Just installed the new firmware for the MBA 2. Still no four finger swipe.
Don't understand why it does take this long...

For me this is a big deal. I'm a heavy spaces user, certainly with a 13 inch screen. And the four finger swipe is meant for spaces.

So come on, fix this thing!

Hey guys,

There is official word on this.

I called Apple UK today and we have the previous version of the OS installed (rev A). A software update is needed.

You have 2 options.

1. Wait for 10.5.6

or

2 Call Applecare and they will send out the correct DVD with the correct version of the OS.

The reason they are not doing an update before 10.5.6. is cause they have no way to identify which machines need it.

If you need it ASAP, call applecare and they will sort it out.

Well, it sounds pretty crazy...
but 10.5.6 should be out in a while anyhow.. no?

Basically Apple is going to Send out DVDs to who asks for them. Most people would have not realized that the gestures were missing, and that will be corrected in 10.5.6

I thought it sounded a bit crazy so that is why i called them after work today. But this was confirmed. The tech was very knowledgable and basically told me we got the wrong version of the install.

If your concerned, call them and explain how others have been told to call up and get the replacement DVDs.
