What do the people think base storage of the 7 will be? The main reason I haven’t bought an iPad mini 6 on sale, is because the base of 64gb wasn’t enough for me, and I didn’t need 256gb for the price jump. I’m not going to be a happy camper if the 7 base model is 64gb. 🤣

Probably 128GB same as Air 6.

I’m hoping the mini gets at least a 512GB option if not 1TB.

In my opinion, yes. I do wear glasses and without them, text on other devices looks fuzzy and blurry lol
Couldn't find a good deal on mini 6 here, used they are high and new edu or refurb from apple $750AUD.
Scored a 11" M4 cellular for $1KAUD new price $2069AUD.

Here are my expectations for the iPad mini 7:

- A17 Pro chip or a variant of the A18
- Wi-Fi 6E
- Support for Apple Pencil Pro
- Landscape-oriented front camera
- 500 -> 600 nits display brightness
- 8GB RAM
- 128GB base storage

Apple might equip the iPad mini 7 with the M2 chip, but I don't think they will. The A17 Pro/A18 chip and 8GB RAM should be enough to bring Apple Intelligence to the iPad mini 7.

It's also likely that Apple won't include an OLED or mini-LED display, nor ProMotion, as these features remain key selling points for the Pro lineup.

The iPad mini 7 and the 11th generation iPad are likely to be introduced at the iPhone 16 Special Event in September. If I recall correctly, Apple also introduced the iPad 9 and iPad mini 6 at the iPhone 13 event.

Apple has so many Mini 6s lying around, that they won’t announce an update until a month before the 7 gets released. A lot of people who purchase a 6, could get a price match on the reduced price, or swap it out, but more than likely, they’ll just be a little annoyed, saying they knew they should’ve waited.

Not sure but I genuinely don’t think the average person is all that savvy

Exactly this.

I’m not expecting “much”, but I also think those specs are enough to make the Mini a fantastic product. The biggest thing is the 8GB of RAM and 128 GB base storage. It’ll likely have an A18 chip, which I’d also be very happy with.

I think the screen will be the same spec, but with a landscape FaceTime camera, even if it’s only moved to enable Apple to fix the jelly scroll.

Moving the front camera will do nothing to change the jelly scroll; it has been rumored that Apple will rotate the screen itself to reduce jelly scroll, meaning there will still be some jelly scroll, but it will be in landscape mode rather than the current portrait mode...?

I kinda hope not. Unlike bigger iPads, I use the Mini almost exclusively in portrait mode so I don’t find a landscape-oriented camera desirable.
Agreed that's the only iPad that would be best with a portrait camera, and I would be totally fine with it keeping the pencil 2 as a result. I have avoided the mini 6 because of the RAM, but a mini 7 with 8GB could be appealing.

25gb Mini 6…?

For reading, you can't compare an 11” iPad to a mini 6, the larger iPads are not comfortable to hold with one hand.
How long does someone hold a iPad one hand only for lol
Works for me. even easier in portrait. You can't read a book with one hand easily.
Funny some people get hung up about one handed use with apple devices.
