Yeah - very chuffed! I can actually crack on with music work now! As I've been falling begin on certain projects..

I ordered as soon as the uk site went live (even had credit card log number ready in the clipboard!) ordered at 8:40am and ordered confirmed at 8:41am

Also got that dispatch in January email from apple too..

When did you order?

I didn't do it until the afternoon. My email confirmation is timed at 1.50pm. Had I realised that the shipping date would slip to February so quickly I might've been a bit quicker off the mark, but hey ho.

I didn't get the "will dispatch in January" email so am pretty sure I'll be waiting at least a couple more weeks. It wouldn't surprise me if it slipped to next month as I must've just caught the "January" window by a few minutes.

I doubt it'll do any good, but I may reach out to Apple customer support - particularly about the lack of a dispatch email. I realise I should be patient and wait, but I'm like you - I have projects starting to back up that really need the new kit. I'm using a Mac Pro 1,1 and it should've been replaced a long time ago.

Either Apple sold far more Mac Pros than they expected or the plan was always to ship to Europe towards the end of January.

I got the will ship in January email myself, but would just like to know if it's going to be Jan 31st or whether I can hope it arrives sooner.

Well, I received my dispatched notification this morning...

I'm over in London..

6core, d300, 32gb RAM, 500gb SSD

Glad you got yours on the way, Sure its going to be a great system.

No movement on my 6core, d700, 16gb, 500gb, so cancelled this afternoon and sourced an alternate solution.

due to stupidly getting rid of my old system in Dec expecting apple to be up to spped at launch, work has now backed up so have had to take an alternative. -£4k for Apple. Up this list by 1 for those below me.

The suspense was killing me so I called Apple. I knew it wouldn't do any good but by the sounds of it they're getting lots and lots of similar calls about the Mac Pro so I don't feel quite so bad about being one of them now.

It's always difficult to tell whether someone's just using skills they've picked up on a training course to know what to say to someone when they don't actually have any information at all to give them, but he did say that I should hear something about my order "very soon".

Read into that what you will.

I asked him why I hadn't received one of the "your Mac Pro will ship in January" emails and he said it's probably because I'd been in touch about my order already before they went out (which is true, I called about something else I ordered at the same time which they were supposed to ship before Christmas but hadn't). Makes sense.

I feel like I've got this out of my system - at least for a few days - so perhaps I can stop staring at the order status page now and actually get on with some work for a bit! ;)

Thanks for letting us know. Seems like they start shipping more and more outside the US now. Although my estimated shipping is february I really hope it improves to late january or please let it be in the first week of february ... I have no patience for these things whatsoever.

I ordered within the first hour in the United States and still no movement.

6core
1tb
D700
12GB

I haven't seen ANY shipping activity for the last 2 days from anyone.

A couple of people on this thread have seen their orders ship in the last two days. Random-UK reported his shipping three posts above.

These are from people who have been notified already. No new notifications since the 8th.

I'm one of those guys.

I got my "will dispatch in January" the same time everybody else got theirs..

Yesterday, my order status was changed to 'preparing for shipment' and today, my order changed to dispatched.

Est. Delivery 15th Jan.

I'm still checking the tracking number like a nutter to see if the delivery date may be pulled forward

Brilliant news. Don't suppose you know how far ahead your credit card was charged before your order turned to "preparing for shipment"? Nothing showing on mine yet :)

Why would I want to voluntarily add my identity to Google's nefarious database?

If anyone suggests using Google Docs, I say no and ask them to send me the .docx file to edit and I'll return the edit to them.

After running the .docx through a stripping filter to remove everything but basic formatting. And filtering it again before sending it back (so that any metadata describing me or my system is stripped).

I really find it hard to believe that anyone would connect to an anonymous internet file and upload their data. It seems as stupid as hitting the porn site and saying "yes" when a popup asks if you want this internet executable file to have kernel access.

Especially considering the crap that Google was caught doing this week with Google+.... I deleted my Google profile - I want nothing of their "enhanced" spyware.

The Google "do no evil" mantra has become "do everything that you can get away with".

My credit card got charged the moment it changed to 'preparing for shipment'

Apparently anxiety about Google is the only force in the universe strong enough to cause AidenShaw to inadvertently omit the phrase "Mac Mini Pro" from a post he makes to MacRumors. Good to know.
