No, what Bbqthis said is indeed correct - this thread is meant for bands that indeed could be easily mistaken for Apple's standard options, "like for like". The nice leather strap Cremerhm posted doesn't look like Apple's Classic Buckle, nor indeed any other option from Apple.

The correct and better thread is this pinned one: The Great "Third Party Band/Strap" Thread

This way other forum members would not have missed this great option if they wanted some specifically different from what Apple's own options look like.

This thread here is indeed, exactly meant for "like for like". Here's from the opening post:
"I thought i'd compile a thread with Fake bands in, just so people who don't mind getting a cheaper apple clone can share and buy the best ones."

Nothing "fake" about Bbqthis's leather strap!!

I think you mean "Nothing "fake" about Cremerhm's leather strap!!

but I know what you mean, peace.

For those that like the Modern Buckle look but want it in 42mm as well (as well at a 85% cheaper) there are lots of Modern Buckle clones coming out on AliExpress now in the original OEM colours, for example: http://www.aliexpress.com/item/For-...-Smooth-Granada-leather-with/32502262710.html

that looks really nice.

The 'mechanism' worries me a little though (not sure if I'd chance it). As I have first hand experience of dropping my watch on a solid surface and the shattered screen, 2 week wait & repair bill that resulted.

thanks though, interested if anyone has tried this 'mechanism'?

I got a Classic Buckle 42mm clone through the mail today, pretty pleased with the thickness of the leather and the closeness of the match to the OEM version. Only £12 including shipping!

View attachment 593261 Got my product red (I will give a donation to charity)

from http://www.ebay.co.uk/ulk/itm/161844654706

The jury is out on the colour I'm afraid, some say 'red' (in darkend light) some say 'orange, but dont worry that is the colour of the season!'

I say inbetween red & orange. and the light changes the colour a lot.

I think the Chinese may be slightly colour blind on their reds and oranges!

I did pay twice aliexpress price so would expect 100% red.

but hey ho

ps
cant help but feel most of the sports knock offs are from the same manufacturer. Just different supplier.

Least expensive at £4.58 inc shipping for UK buyers http://www.ebay.co.uk/ulk/itm/252101156786 awaiting dark blue.

Please correct me, but is that 88.36% cheaper than apple's £39.00 genuine article?

If so I can see where apples approximate profit margin of 40% comes from.

Thanks for the post. I have now ordered the Dark Blue 42mm at £12.81

With the price being <£15.00 there is zero import cost so that is a nice bonus too.

Thanks again.

For £12 you can't go wrong ✌️

The "leather" is peeling a little but I think that's just cause it's new. It certainly is quite thick, which is good because I wasted money on 2 other clones which were rubbish. Is the classic buckle leather really stiff on the genuine version, does anyone know?

when you say "peeling'' do you mean cracking? I think "peeling" = return.

I was wondering how to 'look after' the leather I've read all different ideas:

Nivia cream
Bees wax
Sno-seal (never heard of that)
leather honey (not heard of that)

I have some 'Auto Glym' for car leather seats somewhere.

cheers

Just ordered this as I remember the name as excellent

As I recall trying it out, it was really soft! I was never interested, thinking it wasn't as good value as the Milanese Loop, but it felt really comfortable.

That's a very nice looking leather band for the price. I just wish they offered it in the new style Apple has with the tan bottom and the stitching running along the sides.

Yeah, me too. It won't be long before a clone of these bands come out, let's give it a few weeks. Will post here if I find one. I really like the brown leather. My £12 classic clone is really great, for the price.

My 1:1 link copy. It's really really good. Easy to adjust with the push buttons. Gaps are typical sized. Basically looks exactly like apples

I went ahead and ordered a Hermès double tour copy from Aliexpress. I ordered black and brown and they are great. Real leather as well. Please excuse the watermark. I have had pictures taken off this forum and end up in Aliexpress listings . I have watermarked it with my husbands company as I didn't want to put my name ...

ETA: Here is the link to the seller ... http://www.aliexpress.com/item/The-...celet-Leather-Watchband-38mm/32479939649.html

Thats really nice.
I'm sure the strap could be 'unisex'.
But would I be right in saying it is aimed at the female market.

Not neccesarily. I live in Europe so man buns, bracelets and skinny jeans are no longer women wear.
I think the shop I ordered from does them in 42mm so it is possible. The cuffs I think are more geared towards the guys but hey ho, where what YOU like. Us chicks love stylish and forward thinking men. I'm biased though as I live in Sweden, the land of gender neutrality .
