I really like this slightly unusual look for- Total: £5.32 inc P&P (for my space grey sport 42mm)

Strap (band colour '1'): £2.88
http://s.aliexpress.com/3IN3QvUz
Black 'Lugs' x2: £2.44
http://s.aliexpress.com/BFVVjIRj
tip- you do need to order two as strangely they supply in singles.

VIMP: DONT FORGET A COUPLE OF DROPS OF LOCTITE 'Red' or 'Blue' on the screws.
Recommended on all 'knock off' straps to prevent watch falling off wrist & screen smashing onto a solid floor, due to a screw coming loose.

I got a Classic Buckle 42mm clone through the mail today, pretty pleased with the thickness of the leather and the closeness of the match to the OEM version. Only £12 including shipping!

Hi Buddy

I got exactly the same strap as yours from the same seller from your link.

Absolutely made up except the other day without warning my watch was dangling precariously off my wrist.
One of the screws had fallen out. I was lucky if the watch had fallen on concrete it would have smashed the screen.

So a fix......

I have used loctite thread glue on the screws on all my 'lugs' now.
If you want semi permanent use 'blue' or 'red' for a permanent fix.

A few UK links:

ACENIX® 25 in 1 Repair Opening Tool Kit Pentalobe Torx Phillips Screwdriver for iPhone 5 4S 4G

https://www.amazon.co.uk/dp/B00K0GPDII/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_awd_TKWGwb4R8RP9Z

the correct pentalobe is top right row, second one along.

Also bought & used this (blue):

Loctite 243 Lock 'n' Seal Fast Acting Thread Lock and Sealant - 3 ml https://www.amazon.co.uk/dp/B003ZUXQIA/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_awd_nMWGwbACDAZR5

having read about the 'red' permanent loctite I'm thinking should I re-do with 'red' and make it totally permanent.

I didn't shake the 'blue' tube (didn't think of doing that) and it was runny quite 'watery'.

I guess its whether the 'blue' is strong enough (I change my straps regularly).

I've invested in some 'red' cheaper product also. (The Loctite 'red' was off the scale pricewise for a tiny tube.)

hope this helps

Got my new link bracelet today. As promised here are some pics. Initial impression is good. I love the way it looks. Now just to see how long it lasts. 38mm SS watch by the way.

I also noticed the packaging says iWatch. I cringed. Haha

the band looks a little small/tight on your wrist? mine are about the same size and i also have the 38, but i'm wondering did you size it this way or is that the biggest it comes?

I like a snug fit. But you are right. I may have taken 1 too many links out. It was much bigger. I believe I took out 4 links total. It came with a pin removal tool and extra pins as well.

I'm wearing the genuine Apple Space black bracelet and the watch. Got a good deal on eBay. I would never go back to third party links they're terrible I had two that broke.

Does the original feel a lot higher quality than the clones? Which version clones did you have?

Haven't been here in a while. looking for a link bracelet knockoff. Now I know that there are like 4 or 5 generations of this thing.
Looking for a black link, 42mm. Anyone got some reviews of ones they've found good? Preferably AliExpress purchase too. Somewhere under AU$100.
Cheers :)

First time poster here - excellent info in thread, much thanks to all.

Question: looking for understated leather band for 42mm brushed aluminum apple sports watch - will pair with LUVVITT brushed aluminum matte adapters.

Anyone have info for 24mm black leather band - I LOVE the Habitue black calf posted in thread past but cannot located in 24mm - prefer no emblems on claps like the Jisoncase leather band.

Please post links, ideas, thoughts.

I'm looking for a chunky brown leather band similar to this one. http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B0...&qid=1452344853&ref_=sr_1_3&s=wireless&sr=1-3
I'm worried about getting crappy adapters that will fall apart and posibly result in me losing or breaking my watch. Can anyone recommend a good one that has some quality adapters on it? There's quite a few on Amazon in the $20-$30 range, so it's hard to tell what's good and what's complete garbage.

Hey! Sorry to hear that happened. It actually happened to me, too, when out shopping. I put it in my pocket and when I got home, I swapped the adapter with another one I had laying around. Sorry about that. I guess you get what you pay for, but aside from that, the leather is still excellent and it became one of my favourite straps!

Hi, please don't be sorry!

Its interesting it happened to you too. Thankfully without incident.

I've changed all my "lugs" (I have black lugs now for space grey sport) and put ''Loctite thread lock'' on all the screws.

I also make a habit now of checking the screws visually, when swapping straps.

I think the "knock offs" are great, but they do seem to have some quality issues.

Cheers

Good price but only if it is the real deal, it's nog a Ebay Member with a high rating, lets hope he is not selling the 4th gen clone in a (fake) box.

I would only trust it because he has sold the same item before in the past... which is what almost all of his feedback is. If I open it up and it doesn't have engraving in the butterfly clasp, that's how I will know.

I received the JETech and MoKo knockoffs of the Apple Milanese today. To be honest, I couldn't really tell a difference between them so I returned the JETech as it cost twice as much. Both were the same feel and weight, and the magnets were comparable strength. I would prefer the Apple one, and probably will eventually buy it, but the MoKo will do for now. It feels about the same as my Kartice knockoff black Milanese for anyone familiar with that one.

As an expert on the subject I am hoping you can answer this question; how are you finding the Moko Milanese, and Moko bands in general, holding up?

Anyone see these new 5th generation link band 1:1 clones that are showing up now?
http://www.ebay.com/itm/33174374511...1&exe=13453&ext=34391&sojTags=exe=exe,ext=ext

I asked the seller what the differences between the 4th and 5th gen were and he said the following:

"5th gen is using 316L stainless steel and 4th gen is using 316D, 5th gen is more details in finishing and mechanism inside the strap."

When I asked about the space gray version, and if it was improved over the 4th gen which would "rub off", he said:

"We only have 1 black color in stock for the 5th gen, no more qtys until after Chinese New Year which is around end of next month. The black color is plated so it won't fall off unless you scratch it."

So in theory it sounds like a good update. Anyone willing to try it out, please post your experience.

So I have seen a ton of first impressions on the moko, but i havent seen any follow ups so i am not sure if i am in the majority or minority. But I have had mine for about two week now and it is not holding up at all. I have barely worn the band and it is already starting to discolor on the bottom of the band by the clasp and the links near it. Anyone have the same experience? I know I wasnt expecting the world but I was hoping to get something that lasted a little longer than this. View attachment 597629 View attachment 597630 View attachment 597631

I had been wearing mine for about a week so far so good. ( crossing fingers ) IMG_8417.JPG

I have asked another seller, who bluntly told me they were the same lol.

Anyway, 316l/316d "upgrade" seems like a pure marketing answer:

so i got a fake blue leather loop in october. bought it from amazon, brand name was japace. it's probably made from some "leather"-like material, although it mostly looks like plastic. it's lighter, has a lighter color and is a bit thinner than the apple original. depending on the orientation, you could see a small silver glint on one side from the metal where it's mounted to the watch. magnets are not as strong as the apple one, but still more than strong enough. unfortunately, it's edges started to delaminate after 1-2 months of wearing, and even though i fixed it with glue from time to time, it's now it's in a state where i'm afraid it could come apart in an active situation. so i bit the bullet and shelled out the € 169 (about 184 usd) for the original leather loop. feels way nicer on the skin, the magnets are stronger, the material is a bit thicker, and it's machined much more precisely, so it fits my sg sport watch better (although, on the sides, it still stands a bit out, barely, but still around .1 mm or so. the only thing that's worse in the original is, that it's stiffer and heavier, so it feels more noticeable on your wrist (still much better than the sports band which constantly reminded i was wearing a watch) - but i guess, the stiffness will vanish with time. i hope, it hold's up - if it doesn't die within a year, i'll be a happy camper.

I got the Moko Milanese and Black silicon straps from amazon, last Friday. Both are going back.

Neither 'locks in' to the watch. They slide straight through. No amt of wiggling gets them to stick in place.

So on the weekend I sprung for the real milanese strap. I think half the cost is in the packaging, LOL.

On these link bracelets what's the difference between the 3rd and 4th gens? Is it just the holes on the side of the removable links or are there other differences?
