Ha, but out of site is out of mind. What ya don't see ya don't know it's even there if it is.Your metal backed phone has the same amount of fingerprint goo as if it were glass backed.
Is there any truth to wireless charging heating and destroying the phones battery? Or is this an example of someone exaggerating to support their opinion?
I have three wireless charging pucks and not one of them heats up my iPhone 8, not even the two capable of fast charging. I have no idea what people are talking about.
Also, I'm never going back. In the car I love plopping the phone onto a magnetic charging holder. No cable mess, no fiddling, only needs one hand, and I can do it by feel without even looking. It's one of those things where, even weeks later, I'm still delighted every time I do it.
One Counter argument I want to make about using a charging cable is that I like to sometimes charge my iPhone or iPad awhile I’m using it. For that reason alone, I would not opt solely for wireless charging as a primary.
Agreed. I still use the cable sometimes as well although being able to just drop the phone on my desk and wirelessly charge is super nice though. One Counter argument I want to make about using a charging cable is that I like to sometimes charge my iPhone or iPad awhile I’m using it. I just don’t buy wireless charging actively harms your device battery though I admit I don’t know all the details. I found one article from some guy who said it was increasing his charge cycles buy discharging and charging at the same time (that’s not even possible) so there doesn’t appear to be any actual evidence of decay.
I'll take glass every time, the color never scratches, fades or wears off. Heck even a clear
back would interest me, on the other hand, think of the colors they could do, Blue anyone?
With a black front, not white.........me too.waiting (not-so-patiently) for a midnight blue glass back iPhone.
a repair for the iphone x is $549.00, ofcourse apple wants to have an all glass phone.
It doesn't have to have glass, Apple has chosen a design that utilizes glass for wireless charging.you do realize that in order to support wireless charging, the iPhone has to have a glass backing

No, I am not saying this at all. I am just saying that Apple chose glass for wireless charging, but it is not the only material that could be used.So you’re insinuating that the glass back design they chose for the iPhone 8/X was just a coincidence by introducing it at the same time with wireless charging?
Another design/material could have been used.you do realize that in order to support wireless charging, the iPhone has to have a glass backing.

Ok? What other specific materials are 100% conducive to wireless charging other than glass backings?
The point is, a glass back is a choice that Apple made, it is not required, there are a bunch of inductive charging devices that are not glass.
Right, we already know Apple made the choice for a glass backing, also, when has Apple in the history of the iPhone ever used plastic aside from the 5C? They haven’t. Especially given wireless has solid transfer rate with the electromagnetic energy due to Glass.

The original had a partial plastic back. The 3G, and 3GS iPhones had a full plastic back, although, I have seen it called it a hybrid plastic (whatever that means).also, when has Apple in the history of the iPhone ever used plastic aside from the 5C? They haven’t.
