I'm not saying keep the phone and ignore the recall. I'm saying keep using it until Samsung sends you a new one.I think the problem is that in most states (and Canada), if you ignore the recall and then have a problem with your phone, Samsung might not be obligated to help you unless you can prove you didn't know about the recall. Also, if you want to sell your phone later and something happens to that person, you could be on the hook for it if you knew there was a potential danger.
Seems like a lot of risk just to get to keep the phone for a month or so.
