He said ALL ipod models were getting upgrades; I got all excited! :)

The NEW nano has no camera....WTF

Now the live brodcast is cutting in and out....

Good point. I didn't like it actually. It's just a Shuffle with a screen o_O, nothing special about it.

They could have just increased the hard drive in the Classic or anyhing like that. Killing it was NOT a good idea.

To the above poster, I though exactly the same. I imagined an uber Classic and then nothing :(

I think the classic is gone.

. . . Especially with the new AirTunes in iOS 4.1 (er 4.2 or whatever is the 'newest' one) you don't need a huge library in your pocket when you can stream over AirTunes.

AirTunes needs an AirPort base station right? I don't see me buying one of those. Plus I'm not sure you can carry your WiFi connection around with you wherever you go. But I may be wrong.

Pissed beyond belief. So much for every iPod, huh Steve?

I, for one, will never buy an iPod Nano or an iPod Touch.

Rest in Peace little clickwheel buddy. I'm glad I picked up my Classic at the beginning of the summer. I had a feeling it was on its' way out.

Until the store is up, we don't know for a fact that the classic is dead. But yeah, I'm bumming that Steve had nothing to say about it.

Love live the iPod Classic!!! At least I hope mine lives for a long time... ;)

Guys, it's still for sale. Don't cry yourselves to sleep over this one.

I agree, he basically lied to us lol. I don't get it...what was the iPod originally introduced for? Oh yeah, that's right, music! So get rid of the iPod mainly geared towards that? Maybe if the Touch had got the 64GB boost to 128GB, but if they discontinue it there'll be nothing left for people with larger libraries.

Wow, the new Nano costs $250 for the 8GB here. You failed on this one, Steve. I'll still pull the trigger on the Classic this week though.

ipod classic news???

i was excited to hear the news of ALL ipods getting an update.... yet now sad that there is no classic update.... i dont want to carry my iphone 4 and a touch... i want something to handle a large music collection.... :( the new ipods look nice, but they are not in my buying/interested category.......

What more could they do with it really? It will probably still be around, but the future is touch.

Correction, the future is FLASH memory. The reason you don't see a massive storage is because the memory market is pretty much locked up right now at current capacities, they just can't make any more.

The Classic, old clunky HDD based. Yea they could have updated it, but I'm pretty sure it's their slowest selling iPod around so, meh.

Airtunes works with any router, it's the end devices that matter (computer, appleTV, etc.).
