Apple Support just called me and said apparently 16.1.1 fixes this issue. I have had it installed the last few days I think and from memory haven't noticed any change but I've taken to leaving my phone on silent lately.
No it didn’t.Apple Support just called me and said apparently 16.1.1 fixes this issue. I have had it installed the last few days I think and from memory haven't noticed any change but I've taken to leaving my phone on silent lately.
I have the same issue on my 14 pro max but it was also on my 13 pro max while typing... it happens sometimes but not all the time.I’ve also noticed typing is very loud and sometimes very slow.
Mine is fairly frequent unfortunately. And weirdly this issue is WITH AirPods in too, which the loud message notification is not.I have the same issue on my 14 pro max but it was also on my 13 pro max while typing... it happens sometimes but not all the time.
I don't think so. Apple Support and the Engineering team are pretty shocked at how loud it is.Does anyone notice how loud, and I mean very loud the top speaker/ ear speaker is while on a phone call? My 13 pro max was not as loud as the 14 pro max... 13 pro max full call volume was not loud enough and 14 pro max is super loud had to put the volume down on most phone calls. maybe that's the reason the notifications are louder also. At this point I don't know what to think or do anymore...
To solve this problem there should be more Apple Support opened issues in this matter. When users don’t complain they have low incentive to fix this.I don't think so. Apple Support and the Engineering team are pretty shocked at how loud it is.
Also someone measured the sound at being just shy of 120db. That is dangerous to the human ear, being that close to it.
But your speaker is very loud also. I mean the volume is very loud when you are on a phone call? I don’t know if it’s just mine or 14 pro max ear speaker is louder… very loudI don't think so. Apple Support and the Engineering team are pretty shocked at how loud it is.

As you type on "normal" mode, the first key you press its loud as well lol but i love the phone, came from a s22 ultra@iamJoshRoth you are not mad!!! This is driving me nuts. It’s also loud when texting with an open call on speaker. The first time a notification went off in my ear I literally had to move the phone away from my ear. I’ve noticed a few issues with the new iPhone 14 Pro Max. Not impressed at all.
It’ll never get fixed. Wait till iPhone 15 Pro Max then maybe it’ll be fixed. 🤣Just update to iOS 16.1.2, still having this issue!
😂😂😂 that featureIt’ll never get fixed. Wait till iPhone 15 Pro Max then maybe it’ll be fixed. 🤣
Read the original poster posts. He said he had like 5 phones, replaced, returned... all with the same issueVery confused after seeing this post showing this issue was happening back in iphone 11. Has anyone replaced their 14 Pro Max and seen if the problem gone away : https://discussions.apple.com/thread/252209757
