Read the original poster posts. He said he had like 5 phones, replaced, returned... all with the same issue
I've never had this issue until the 14 Pro Max and we have multiple iphones in the family. The author of this thread is talking about 5 replacement iPhone 14 pro max, but the link I sent is for someone who had an iphone 11

Hi All,

From India, Found the threat had the issue, Filed the issue with Apple. Talked to Manager to take it up to engineering and have shared the forum link as well, i am supposed to get an update by this wednesday 07 Dec 2022, hopefully they will acknowledge.

they also wanted a video showcasing the issue, I have done that as well while they were on call.

let us just fingers crossed wait for now.

Sounds like you and I are the only people who have been asked to do all of this. I am emailing the guy at Apple Support pushing for an answer. Haven't heard from him for 2-3 weeks.
The same situation here. I reported the problem to Apple Support and received no response.

Problem still exists with 16.2
Question assume some of you have screen protectors and others don't?
I have a full screen one and unlike previous iphones which didnt cover the notch this one covers the dynamic island. It can't be that simple can it?

I also have a screen protector that completely covers the dynamic island. but when talking on the phone the screen turns off. so the phone understands that you are on the call. I don't think this will cause it. Let's wait for information from other friends..

Actually edited to state that there was one phone without a screen protector and it still did it. And I am on 16.2 also. No change.

I have the same problem...NO HEADPHONES....
When I am on a call and I have the phone at my ear, notifications are blasting my ear so loud my head spins....
Cant be good for my hearing.
Called apple several times....the call always ends the same....
"Ok Sir, yes, we will pass this on to our engineers....we will follow up with you next week."
No Follow up...No Fix........Apple quality has seriously deteriorated....i am a fanboy but i am pissed...

If I dont remember to put my phone switch on silent, then I get blasted in the ear sooo loud....

APPLE WTF???

There have been 3 updates since I reported this with 16.0 ..... WHY NO FIX?

REMEMBER - NO HEADPHONES
People keep posting about headphones.....
This has nothing to do with paired devices...

Stock phone no peripherals....

GOOD LUCK TO US ALL on getting this fixed.....I am ready to post my phone on Kijiji....

I'm having the same issue. I got a brand new iPhone 14 pro max 128 gig from Bell on a contract and ever since iOS 16 notifications have been blasting in my ear whenever I'm on a call. It's unacceptable and it's ridiculous that this made it through testing. I have notified Apple several times, but it doesn't seem like they're able to fix it. There have been three updates since I've got my device and they have not fix this issue yet. I think the best thing to do is to launch a class action lawsuit because of hearing loss or damage to the eardrum. That will get their attention and then they will fix it.

Mine does this as well. 14 Pro, no screen protector, just a bumper for a case and on 16.2. I don't use the phone up at my ear usually when talking, which means I use speakerphone a lot (since I work at home and don't have to worry about annoying other people). And on speakerphone, it will interrupt the talking with super loud notifications! So I can't imagine how that sounds up to the ear! I also notice when I type, it will randomly switch between loud and soft clicks. Because of these issues, I just keep my phone on silent most of the time now. I do take it off silent occasionally, usually after an update to see if it got fixed, but that doesn't usually last long...

I'm so tired of contacted Apple. I called them several times about this issue and didn't get any help. Now I'm having issues with WI-FI. My phone is disconnecting from Wi-Fi when is locked. When I unlocked it shows 5G then after a couple of seconds it re connects to WI-FI... I don't recall having this issue before the update. I tried everything and so far shutting the phone off and on is the only thing that makes it work back to normal but only for a few days, after 3 or 4 days I'm having the same issue again. The only answer I get from Apple is, we run a test and there is nothing wrong with your phone :(

This is not an iPhone 14 issue I’ve had these issues on 11 Pro Max and 13 Pro Max including the typing loud sound delays which I’m having right now on 14 Pro Max, the fix for me is by putting the phone on silent I don’t think Apple is fixing this issue, I’m kinda used to it now annoying honestly.

Strange as I have never had it on any of my previous iphones (they vibrate when a message comes in) but I get on my 14 pro Max (which was built using the backup from my 11 Pro Max)

If there was a way I could do a poll I would but I have a question ... do you all use Airpods or Airpods Pro? I do and read somewhere it may be the cause

Typing sound have been around true. But the loud notification sounds whilst on a call only started with the iPhone 14PM for me and others except for yourself. 🤣

We thought this at one stage and then ruled it out.

So I’ve read every comment and no one has a fix for this so far. I just got my iPhone 14 and came from the android z fold 3. I’m really starting to regret the switch….
