What?? What does that mean? Why did you have to go through all those calls?
Nothing you should be concerned about.
My cards were debit cards, so it took me more than a few calls to my banks to get the authorizations. And after that, then instead of waiting I called Apple directly to make sure my cards get charged instantly. Had to go through this twice coz I had listed 2 cards for payment.
As long as your card is able to charge the required amount, your transaction should be smooth.
And I must say the customer care folks at Apple were very considerate and helpful.

How did you know there was a problem with your card? Did you get an email or something?
Yes. Apple sent an email saying my card was declined and the order needed to be updated. Also I got a message from my bank as well stating that a transaction was requested but declined.
The Apple email suggests to use the Apple account to update card info, but you'll rather use the Apple helpline. It's convenient and you'll get immediate responses.
