aaaaannnddd it's working on my Apple Watch again! Will test iMac shortly, but sounds like it's fixed!

Hi. I have been following this thread for some time, because NumberSync wasn't working on my Apple Watch. I thought it was working on my iPad Pro, but it seems that I was wrong. I just tried to make a call from the iPad with my iPhone in airplane mode and no dice. It said calling from iPhone and then failed.

So, if you don't mind, what was your particular solution? Or did AT&T just do something on their end?

Thanks.

For me, just waiting it out. Of course, this got me thinking about this again and I retested to make sure its still working. It is, for my iPad. But now, of course, my Watch won't connect to my office Wifi to test it (but that's a different issue for a different time!).

Morac and I we called At&t and opened cases there. I'm not sure if it helped or not. It started to work out of nowhere same time for all of us. If you call Att be ready to spend at least an hour with them. They reboot, reset, etc. After nothing helped they open a case and give you a case number.
Morac spent more time and I think after he published the conversation with totally unprofessional At&t technician At&t started to move. I'm sure they follow this forum and they don't want negative information.

P.S. Off-top: At&t, if you follow this thread, please, give us a better roaming rates. I pay extra to your competitor, T-mobile 150+tax , just for international roaming. This money can be yours :)

I guess I should not have said that I just waited: At Morac's suggestion, I tweeted @attcares and got one of their reps on it. We never linked up (mainly due to my schedule), but she knew what the issue was and that I was on a corporate account. So, at least it got it out there that there were others with the issue.

Thanks for the responses. I confess both my devices are jailbroken, so I am hoping to avoid multiple reboots during troubleshooting. The current jailbreak for 9.3.3 is "semi-untethered", which means a re-jailbreaking must be done after every reboot.

EDIT: The whole reason I updated from 9.0.2 (JB), however, was to gain access to NumberSync! I just can't win sometimes.

I'll mention that by the time my case reached level 3 support, it had already gone through the AT&T engineers who determined there were no issues. That's if the level 3 guy told me the truth and I already know he lies. I think level 3 support is where they send you if they can't figure out what's wrong and then just annoy you until you stop calling or drop AT&T.

Currently I don't know if it's still working or not as I'm not near my iPad. It was working this morning. I checked my router and it's connected to a different AT&T server than it was the other day when it worked.

@Morac et al - just wanted to let you guys know that wifi calling is now working on my iPad. It just started out of the blue this evening. I've been testing it twice a day since this all started and it didn't work this morning for me. I hope you all are having similar results!

I too contacted AT&T and got much of the same response as you guys. It's one thing for them to say they don't know what the issue is or that they're working on it, it's entirely another thing to say that there is no known issue, which is pretty much the response I got, when clearly there is. It's incredibly poor customer service and very frustrating. They really need to do better. And a prolonged outage like this shouldn't have happened anyway, it's not like Numbersync is brand new or still in beta.

On my imac it stopped working with VPNs. I have PIA, ExpressVPN and my corp. VPN (need them for work) . After I use vpn I have to reboot my iMac in order to have it working.
VPNs do not forward ports anymore, but why NumberSync doesn't work after disconnect?
BTW there is new 9.3.5 is out , NumberSync works great, save to update.

I want to add one more thing I found today. My main phone is Att.

When I use Att SIM card in my iPad and dial 611on iPad the call goes to Att.

When I swap SIM with T-mobile one and dial 611 on facetime the call goes to T-mobile regardless my iPad on LTE or wifi. When I dial my home numer it shows my att number on display.

Before regardless of SIM cards in my ipad all the 611 calls went to att as my main phone is att.

Quick question for anyone who has swapped or upgraded phones. How does that affect NumberSync since I'm pretty sure it's tied to the line and when upgrading phones with a new SIM card it's like getting a new line.

You have to re-activate vowifi and number sync on a new plan. Ther are should be no problem at all.

I got my iPhone 7 Plus set up with iOS 10 and Numbersync still works, but I've seen some odd things.

For example I turned my iPhone 7 off and on last night and got a message that wifi calling was now available on other devices. This despite it already being set up. After that my IPad popped up a message asking me if I wanted to turn on wifi calling despite it already working. It still worked afterwards, but it seems odd that restarting the phone turns wifi calling off and on.

I just had another instance where it reverted to calling via my iPhone vs directly calling. A reboot of the iPad again fixed it. It may be an issue of crappy hotel wifi, with a weak cell signal as well.

Last week I was done some experimenting on my MacBook Pro. Ok, I have an Early-2011 with the Airport Card from a 2012 to enable Handoff (using Continuity Activation Tool) and that works beautifully.

I was still convinced that there should be a way to get NumberSync to work through the FaceTime app. So I set off exploring and tinkering.

So I used Chameleon Loader (that Hackintosh users use to get OS X to run on a PC) and set the Board ID and Serial number to that of a Mid-2012 and presto! I got the option to upgrade my Wi-Fi Calling and NumberSync was working!

This had unintended side effects, such as the FaceTime Camera not being detected (Since I guess the driver was looking for different hardware for 2012 than 2011) and About this Mac showing 2012, as well as iCloud showing that I was logged in from a 2012.

To make a long story short (too late) We need a hacker/coder to find where FaceTime detects what model Mac you have and edit a kext or two just like Continuity Activation Tool does to enable Handoff.

Hello. Wouldn't switching the Board ID and serial number be the same as getting a mid-2012 motherboard? I ask this because my friend switched logic board (Early-2011 to Mid-2012) and his Early-2011 FaceTime camera worked perfectly.
