They dont say and the page isn't available yet I suppose they will wait till 10/11/09. Dont see why it takes 14 days, unless they are expecting a mass exodus. They wont be able to charge me as their DD has been cancelled long time ago

Have just heard from 02 that it is free

Alex

Free, blimey what happened to them. A minute ago it was no way to get it unlocked. and now a free unlock.

Going to try to do it in store, as I went to the O2 store in Guilford, and the guy there was so rude, saying O2 will never unlock. Just want to go there and make him eat his words.

Hi

It came from O2 themselves in response to a request from me. It came from an Executive Relations Manager, and will go live on 10th November (although i guess it might be worth trying it from time to time between now and then - who knows).

Alex

No, its never been there - November 10th is the critical date - thats when the exclusivity finishes and when O2 will start the unlock process. As I said earlier, I doubt the page will be there till then

What about my iPhone. It was sent from Apple direct and has never been used as a PAYG. I popped a simplicity tariff in the phone that ive been using for two years...will i be able to unlock?

I dont know, I am out of contract with them and when their CEO stated that they would be unlocking the phones, I sent my contact an email asking her to start the process. The reply I got is posted a few posts earlier.

I suggest that you email them saying that you understand they will be unlocking them from 10/11/09 and will yours be OK for unlocking.

Given that you have no term contract with them, I imagine that they would have to. On PAYG do you have to given them 30 days notice or anything?
