Does someone know, why i can't get a connection to the update server? I have to install all updates manually from the Microsoft Office homepage. For Office 2011 there was a hotfix for this issue, if i remember correctly.

Quicker to log in to Office homepage and redownload the latest installer.

I have had issues with Office 2016 on El Capital. Both Excel crashing as well as Word crash often. Glad to know that others are not having issues. Must be something else I'm running that causes the instability.

Outlook 2016 Crash loops for me when ever I have my USB monitor plugged in. Seems to be stable without the USB adapter plugged in. I'm using DisplayLink's current beta with PB5 and Office patched to current as well.

I have had absolutely no problems with Office 2016 on El Capitan. The only problem I have experienced was that in Outlook 2016 my Apple Calendars do not appear since installing Beta 2. This is also the case with other apps that access Apple's Calendar as well such as Fantastical 2, OmniFocus 2, Desktop Informant. The only app that was not affected was BusyCal 2. I believe the problem is more with Apple in this case since it involves so many different applications.

Same here. Office 2016 runs like a charm, all but SplitScreen function. That messes everything up, but fullscreen mode works on its own.

Just killed Office 2011, and installed 2016. So far no issues. Office 2011 was fine except for Outlook.

I am on the Public Beta, Split Screen with Outlook 2016 seems to have been fixed in PB3, PB4 works fine also.
Before split screen would cause the entire system to be unresponsive and I would have to hard reboot my MacBook Pro.

Just installed Office 2016 and it works fine. I've been using the preview until they released it and that was fine too. The only issue I find is that it takes quite a while for each application to load. Lots of bouncing. But it works once open.

On PB4 everytime I try to save a new document on Word 2016, it crashes (obviously incredibly frustrating).

But it's been buggy all along, they don't play along well at all

Yeah, was really excited to lose all my meeting notes this morning. 2016 is no longer fun as of yesterday's updates. I grabbed the new Public Beta as well as a number of 2016 updates, not sure who is to blame.

As an aside, after yesterday's PB update, I'm getting tons of beach balls across the board.

Outlook and Lync are very problematic under El Cap, even a fresh install. If you disable the 'Use Microsoft Exchange for managing personal information' under accounts in Lync, it doesn't crash as often, but you have to change that setting in the 1/2 of a second between it logging in and crashing.
Once outlook crashes, a reboot is required before it will connect again.
It is a huge, sloppy, mess. I'd be more upset, other than the 'beta' os. Many people are reporting similar issues on Yosemite, however.

Sounds like I am going to hold out a little longer. Although the latest El Cap public beta has ruined my printer in Office. It prints gibberish.

Anyone else having problems with search in Outlook 2016? I rebuilt the spotlight index using the Privacy settings and search still does not work in Outlook, but it works in Mail when accessing the same Exchange account.

Same here search function does not work in Outlook 2016.
Updated from DP5 to DP6 and started to have the word 2016 crashes when saving documents.
Went all the way back to DB5. No more crash when saving word files.

I get the same crashes on Public Beta 4. However, I can successfully save to OneDrive. The crash seems to occur when you decide to change the target destination to the hard drive.

honestly when it gets down to it and for working heavily with office 2016 for mac (my exp is mainly with word & excel) it is choppy and buggy, and I am talking about Yosemite, I am not even on El Capitan. ALthough just maybe it should* work better on Yosemite than El Capitan ... but regardless, it is a trash microsoft product in my opinion that I am stuck with. I use LibreOffice but then sometimes I have to resort to MS office due to compatiblity issues and sending work-related files..

I've had good luck so far on El Capitan and Office 2016. I do have an occasional bug in Outlook where it freezes, but so far excel/onenote/word seem to be fine.

There were some pretty big updates that just came out today. Try updating to the latest available version and see if anything improves. The freezing I'm experiencing I'm not sure if it's El Capitan or Office, because i get it in other parts of the system like the Preferences.

How easy is it to roll back?
