^^^^I can not find a later release than V14.5.5 released 09/09/15. Where is the one you found? And did you notice that this thread is devoted to Office 2016?

Lou

Over here the same problems with Office for Mac 2016. Also problems with saving files. Extra folders are made for backup files. Office files cannot be found when opening new files with Word or Excel. Word and Excel not responding. Etc.
Terrible. Switched back to Office for Mac 2011. This version is working significantly better under El Capitan.

I have to say that after using Powerpoint in Office 2016 a little more, presentations become corrupted visually and don't display correctly either on screen or on a projector at times.

How about running it in Parallels?

For some, Office is a necessity..........sticking with Yosemite until they fix it, no matter if it's an Apple issue or Microsoft issue.

The Parallels experience is no better. The Win version (2016) is pretty buggy too. I am forced to manually save my work very ten minutes due to frequent excel lock ups. If you are going to use Parallels, use Win 8.1 and Office 2013.

Word and Excel 2016 text quality looks very bad, jagged and not smooth like it is in Office 2011, my 27" iMac is not a retina one. Office 2016 has to be Microsoft's worst ever release for launch, i guess this is a rush job than getting it right.

I think the last Office 2016 patch is not compatible with El Capitan, I installed the latest patch 15.14.2 and Outlook was completely unusable.. crashed and was not possible to relaunch...

reverted to 15.14 ( thanks to Time Capsule) and now is working again....

Well, for what it's worth I worked on a complex Word 2016 document all weekend without any problems except very laggy typing yesterday for a spell. Lots of formatting and inserted large images. Only had OneNote open at the same time. Outlook is not installed on my Macs. Last weekend I had no problems finalizing a PowerPoint 2016 presentation. I have not tried opening a Word document attachment in Apple Mail again, which is what caused my crashes before on two machines.

The 15.14.2 patch seems to be compatible to me. I have no problem running running the Office 2016 for Mac suite. Outlook is my default e-mail client and I only have two issues with it. 1st, if I use the close button, OL does not remember the window size but I overcome that by using the minimize button during the day. A bigger issue for me is SpamSieve, with Outlook 2016, Microsoft has removed the ability for rules to run AppleScripts. Thus, it is not possible to automatically filter incoming messages through SpamSieve. I have used SpamSieve for years and have let Microsoft know that I think that this a step backwards.

15.14.2 is not new, it was released before El Capitan and is not compatible with Office 2016.

Well Office 15.15 is out now, hopefully it resolves some of the random crashing I have been seeing since doing a clean install of everything.

I'm running a late 2012 slim 27-Inch iMac, non-retina with El Capitan.

I can confirm that Outlook 2016 15.15.0 update fixed my Hotmail POP3 email on El Capitan, it now sends and receives. Seems to run fine for me.

Seems there are still issues with the following:

Excel 15.15.0 - text quality is still pretty bad and jaggered, and it still beachballs when doing actions like changing font and Font sizes. Still a little slow opening. Not impressed and have reported it to Microsoft if they take any notice.

Word 15.15.0 - word is still a bit slow to open as well, text quality looks to be more improved than excel, seems to work ok.

Only thing I do hate is every time you open word or excel, is you have to click on a blank document, any way of actually have it default to open a blank document to save time?

15.15.0 seems to play nice with El Capitan...but Outlook does not support split screen mode.

Same here. This am, prior to applying the update, I forgot and tried to launch Word by clicking on a Word file in Finder. Crash. Then I applied the update and repeated: no problem. Launched PowerPoint the same way and called Excel from within PowerPoint: all fine. Hopefully the laggy typing in Word is gone too.

i still receiving a problem with outlook 15.15.0, 'connection to the server failed or was dropped - error 3253, even though i can send and receive with hotmail pop3. don't know what that issue is.

Ugh. Spoke too soon. Crashing.

the 15.15.0 Update has fixed the most common error I had, which was Excel doing the "bounce, bounce" in the dock and then crashing on startup. Now it is working OK again.

With the release of OS X 10.11.1 beta 4, I kind of agree with previous posters of this thread accusing Microsoft/Apple not working together before their respective releases of Office 2016 and El Capitan. lol

Wish the office saga will end by the time 10.11.1 is released. One less block on my way to El Capitan.
