Hello, I am an American living in Japan. Love Apple products. Most recent purchase was Apple Watch SE, this is the first time to have an Apple Watch and I really am digging it so far. Next big purchase will probably be a MacBook to replace my 5 year old MacBook Pro.

I‘ve been using Apple Computers for a long time - love the Unix foundation with a great Desktop.

Hi 👋🏼 Long time lurker, first time poster.

After being pushed into the world of Apple by my employer, I've embraced the lifestyle.

Rocking a 2018 MacBook Pro 13, iPhone 12 Pro, HomeHub, AirPods and... well, that's it for now.

Hello,

Mac user since 1989, anyone remember Modelshop and when Vectorworks was called Minicad?

Started out on a IIci and after a while the office bought in a monster IIfx (I wonder how those 2 would compare to the M1 equipped Macs? - Geekbench 5 for 68030.....)

Nowadays have Trashcan Mac Pro, 15” MacBook Pro, old MacBook Air, various iPads, iPhones and Apple TV’s and an old Mac mini under the TV Connected to a Drobo.

Greetings! bit of an Apple fan and never found the need for using this sort of forum until I invested a not inconsiderable sum of money in a Series 6 Watch which started misbehaving after a couple of days caused by the Watch App crashing continually. Hence my looking for others with similar issues. so here I am!

I have been following MacRumors for some time, but only recently joined the forum after upgrading one of Mac to Big Sur and found out that several apps were not working.

I purchased the original Mac when it came out and have been a Mac user at home ever since.

Hey Mac Rumors!

I'm a newbie to the forms, but not a newbie to the news. I've been following your site for the better part of 3 years - since the iPhone X! YESSSS...

I'm a converted Mac enthusiast from the PC world. I'm a producer, animator, and coder... when I ran a performance test on a 30 minutedAfter Effect & Premiere timeline I discovered Macs perform better than PCs. A gorgeous PC (broadcast animation machine, top of the line) compared to a Mac Book Pro... PC: 6 hours on render... Mac: 30 minutes. I switched that day.

Now I love the integration that PC's and Androids don't have - too many competitors don't talk to each other.

I am also inspired by the growing changes in the Apple operating systems... and use this inspiration for my personal project The Universe - oh - and every modern animation I design.

Love these products - hate it when they don't work - but that M1 cheap... Awaiting creative pro's responses to it.

Also, nice to meet you all!

New to the forum, great info resource. I have been repairing PC's since their infancy and a Linux fan. My "Conversion" to Mac was an easy choice when I got my first MacBook Pro- Trash Can Rescue and I couldn't be more pleased! Is 5 iMacs too much for anyone to own? Please tell my wife!

Hello - I'm an and conducting a research project with graduate students regarding app development. We would like to post a link to a survey next week. From what I can see in the forum rules this is not forbidden. If it is, hopefully someone will let me know. thanks! ts_researcher

Hello there, I’m a long-time Apple fan and used to post on a well-known Apple forum back when I had an iPod click-wheel. I brushed the back of it and had the Michael Jordan Jumpman logo. That seems a lifetime ago. Tried Android one time, it was not an enjoyable experience.

I am the so many-th generation of Apples, in fact I used one of the square box 'real' Apple Macintosh taht said Hello back then. It stayed dumb but was quite smart. After changing emplyers I came in to a global consulting firm, used my windose machine, but bought a Macintosh Portable too for work. Won a big client project with its great capabilities; they even set up a national support environment just for me :). How things work. After many-th steps in corporate IBM and Lenovo portables (really not bad but you need tech support), when on my own again went immediately to the apple shop and bought iMacs and MBP. Now my third iMac - 4K Fusion.

But Catalina spoilt the whole game of 'high trust, no hassle'. The Catalina silently put strings around the Fusion, somewhere inside the fuse broke on the spinning disk. (I know the spinning disk is too slow for the timelimit of the PCIe part, but come on that delay time to wait is just a software parameter!)
Here on the Forum I found good ways around: external clone made by CCC over the Thunderbolt port. Strange to use an expensive Fusion machine just as fuselage. No I won't trust to hitch hike to Big Sur. I will stay on my machine now for hopefully 10 safe years. My wife came to the same conclusion for her machine.

Hi,

I started with the mac around 2004, I think, with some PowerPC based Mac Mini and I got hooked. Ever since then I've used macs almost exclusively (currently at work I have a Linux box, I'm a developer). I have an older 15'' MBP (from 2014 or 2015 I think) and I've just ordered a MBP with M1. It's supposed to arrive on the 15th of December and I can hardly wait!

Other than that, I have an iPhone XS Max and an iPad Pro 10.5''.

I've read the main web site a lot but until now I didn't get into the forums. Now I started to read the Apple Silicon forum and I thought about registering.

Nice to meet you all!

I just came here to watch all the trolls argue with each other and then realized this isn’t Twitter, but I stayed anyway. Bought a new MacBook Pro 13” with the M1 so I fit in. My check-in window to pick it up is in three hours. 😜
