What else are you going to do when you trade in your old John Deere for a new Ferrari ?

You get some "driving" instructions.

Grab you clipboard. I'm already in the car.

Thanks !

Hi all,
I just signup to the forum even if I read it since a very long time (and maybe a previous account was lost)
I own both a 2011 iMac and a 2013 iMac and I landed here to find a way to keep usable these two machines that even if very old, still runs very well with their old os.
Even if I've read a lot of threads and until now, I still don't know if to try an hardware upgrade (it seems almost impossible to find a decent gpu for 2011) or to buy a new M1.
So in this first message I just want to say ciao and stay safe.

Hey everyone! ^.^ I bought my first Mac on July 1st, 2010. But the first computer I actually used was a 90's Mac that my grandmother had in her elementary school classroom, when I was around 4 or 5. My collection of old and new Macs has grown quite a lot in the past 10 years, haha.

Hello everyone,

Nice too be part of this Apple family. Although I have just registered my user, I have been following and reading this forum last six or seven years.

Kind regards from Madrid (Spain)

Hey All... I am actually a PC guy, but my wife gave me an old MacBook Air, and asked me to get it working for her. How hard could it be? OK... start with forgotten password and follow directions on the internet, now I have a MacBook Air (circa 2011) with a wiped hard drive (SSD) that will not re install the OS (Lion). Then I found you guys. Seems to be all the knowledge I need here, can anyone help?

This will be a bit of a test... Another of these threads started with good intentions... but was soon taken over by regulars.

if you just joined MacRumors, reply and introduce yourself.

This is only for new Macrumors users... only users who registered within two months of the current date may reply...

All other users posts will be deleted. (moderators, please enforce this). This will be for myself included... only comments by truely "new" users will be allowed in this thread.

Discuss away...

(this could fail miserably if no one replies :) )

Halloa!

I've been using Macs since I was a small child back in the Classic days. Thought it was about time I registered here. Also I had a pretty pressing issue, but that's for another thread!

Anyway, hope everyone is doing well.

Hello everyone. Just registered, but I’ve been reading the MacRumors Forums for a couple of weeks now. I should be receiving my new MBA M1 any day now, and I was following the M1 Delivery thread (lots of people that, like me, are excited about their new computers). I’ve been using an iMac since 2017, but this will be my first Macbook. I mostly do photo editing and the usual “routine” stuff (browsing, banking, email, etc.)

Looking forward to participating and learning.

Hello everyone. I’m your typical machack. I have a 2010 MacBook Pro 15 upgraded ram and ssd’s running High Sierra. I have a early 2015 13” rMBP just upgraded to the aura pro x2. It runs warm, kinda clunky and my original mz-jvp5120/0a4 ( Apple Samsung nvme was just as fast). I have a 2012 MacBook Pro upgraded ram and ssd’s ( still love this machine). Originally came here to find a solution to using my Apple Samsung drive in a external enclosure, but to no avail am unable to find anything that will work..

Peace !!

there
Since 1990 i used  computers to design graphics, im currently using a MacBook air late 2010 running Mojave thanks to dos dude. i have built another macbook air 2010 from a bare logic board and paused while trying to get a upper screen display due to the wrong eBay shippings, I have an Ipad i draw on and that iphone5s with no simm crd. In the morning i wake up by helping those on the  community forums work thie macbook airs. most of th advice is "press the power buttonn down for more than 1o seconds" or reset the pram
I joined here just to help someone with a Mountain lion file for their library which worked, and i stayed here.

Lifetime Windows user and OAP from UK, just bought two old 21.5" iMac late 2009 machines.
Enjoying using them and tinkering to give them a boost, still adjusting to the differences.
Joined to get some information and advice as needed :)
