Does that mail app not get push? Would have thought this would be 1st. I'm using my gmail account and am getting nothing or does it only work with a mobile me account?

Push e-mail works only with MobileMe, Yahoo, and Exchange accounts. Not Gmail.

So since 3.0 is out, which Apps take advantage of Push Notifications so far?

I was wondering, because this was my favorite feature to come. But so far, I couldnt get none of my apps to except push notifications? Which apps in the app store already support 3.0?

WeatherAlerts and AP News are the only two I have that work with it so far. I got one from WeatherAlerts today when we had a flood warning. Not a good app at all, but it was free. I hope Weather Channel adds notifications to their app in the next update we see from them.

just mobileme and yahoo. Google has to support push first, then Apple can add it in.

android has gmail push..
plus they support the IDLE command, which is just like the PUSH Apple uses ^(keeps the conection alive for very long periods of time - blackberry push is entirely different, it doesn't keep a conection alive hence the battery use is much lower)

iFart should be getting push. You'll get random fart noises sent to your phone or you'll be able to program when they are pushed to your phone. This will be very convenient - you can let your friend use your iPhone and then have them push you fart in a few minutes while they are using it.

The App [app]RIFtext[/app] is available with push notification. I havent tried it yet, avoiding too many social stuff lol

Other Apps I found to have it soon:
[app]AreMySitesUp[/app]
[app]ChatMaster[/app]
[app]FindMe[/app]
[app]iDetonate 2[/app]
[app]Pollen[/app] (Pollen alerts based on UK)
[app]BillMinder[/app]
[app]iFooty World Plus[/app]
[app]iCam[/app]
[app]PushToTalk[/app]
[app]FlickBank Pro[/app] (not available yet at all)
[app]London Air[/app]

You just made my sig. Too bad I had to butcher it. Stupid character limits.

Still waiting on my first push notification...

Still waiting for O2 to set up MMS too...

I think we'll be waiting a long time for push notifications...

Star Defense does. You can send push challenges to your friends when you get a high score in Challenge mode.

In the Notifications menu TapTap is showing up but AP Mobile isn't.
Am I doing something wrong here?

I had the developer preview installed, that build did push. This one doesn't seem to have the feature, yet.

Have you opened AP Mobile since you installed 3.0? I had to open each app with push in order for the respective notification menu to show up in settings.

Yeah I did, I did the app setup. It never asked me to enable push notifications (like TapTap did).

I feel honored. I don't think iFart is really going to use push, but it sounds like a great idea, doesn't it? And besides, wouldn't it just be great know Apple's own servers are pushing fart noises?

As far as I'm aware, a push-capable version of Beejive has been submitted to Apple for approval, but they're taking a while at the moment. You might have thought they'd bump something like Beejive up in the priority list as it's one of the few apps that really benefits from push notifications.

By the way, the AP news app doesn't push outside of the US.
