I assume NEC uses a rebadged version of Xrites software
At least the old version didn't appear to be, the interface is a pretty radical departure. I've never been a fan of X-Rite's, liked Eye-One much better before they got bought out by XR, still have the old plastic briefcase that holds all the components.

Spectraview's pretty simple, but it does the job, and I like being able to use it with any of my monitors, NEC or not. NEC actually seems to put a little effort into their calibrated solutions.

i am running nMP with my Apple 30" Cinema Display at 2560 x 1600 [through the expensive dual link adapter]...have to say, looks great

Are you using Apple's adapter or the cheaper Monoprice one? If Apple's, do you happen to know which firmware revision?

I've heard horror stories about these adapters (both Apple and Monoprice).

I bought two of these.

Love the height adjustability, matte screen and color accuracy and it's 2560x1440

i also have heard mixed reviews at best. I have the apple adapter i bought about 3 weeks ago when i ordered the nMP from apple. Honestly, i unboxed it yesterday, plugged it in and that was it. 24 hours, no issues. according to system info, it's revision 1.03...please tell me that's the stable version

30" acd

30" ACD - I bought the thunderbolt, but I missed the size of the 30" ACD, so I bought the conversion. Look like ebay gets the thunderbolt

Never had a problem with the Apple adapters (other than the ridiculous price, [seems silly I have to buy a hundred dollar adapter for something my 17" Macbook Pro could do without breaking a sweat]), I have three and they've all worked fine for years now.

NEC PA272W-BK-SV

Should arrive any day now.

After receiving two defective thunderbolt screens, I went up to the NEXT lvl and ordered this one..

Is it working through minidisplayport with the new Mac Pro?

Connected with Mini DisplayPort in the thunderbolt ? Does it work good ?:)

Connected using a Mini DisplayPort to DisplayPort adaptor cable. It's a PITA that this cable is not included with the monitor.

It works quite well. The VP2772 defaults to having the sharpening turned up, but once you turn down the sharpening, it looks very nice.

Great to hear. Was a little concerned with connecting a Mini DisplayPort in a thunderbolt port, but that relieves the stress. After having two apple thunderbolt screes returned, I figured I go for another screen.

Going to use my TV. Kidding. I'll wait to see what's out in about a month when mine arrives.

it's been 2 weeks and i do love my nMP..that said, my 30"ACD through the Apple dual link adapter is, well, erratic. in everyday use, it works. upon wake from sleep, it will blink on/off on its own like a strobe. wit will only stop when i pull the power from the big brick on the ACD. i count to 5 then plug it back in. works for hours and hours. upon wake from sleep, disco strobe. frustrating at $100

I'm leaning towards the NEC PA272W over the Asus PA279Q. A few people mentioned they are using the NEC. How are your experiences? Did you do the sRGB hack to get 10 bit color? Did you hook it up with mini display port or HDMI?

I think I am just going to go with the Apple Thunderbold display for now unless someone can recommend somethign better for the same price or less.
