Does Dell have their own calibration software?
I assume NEC uses a rebadged version of Xrites software
Does Dell have their own calibration software?
At least the old version didn't appear to be, the interface is a pretty radical departure. I've never been a fan of X-Rite's, liked Eye-One much better before they got bought out by XR, still have the old plastic briefcase that holds all the components.I assume NEC uses a rebadged version of Xrites software
i am running nMP with my Apple 30" Cinema Display at 2560 x 1600 [through the expensive dual link adapter]...have to say, looks great
Did I miss someone going to use an Eizo?
OR is no one considering them?
Are you using Apple's adapter or the cheaper Monoprice one? If Apple's, do you happen to know which firmware revision?
I've heard horror stories about these adapters (both Apple and Monoprice).
Never had a problem with the Apple adapters (other than the ridiculous price, [seems silly I have to buy a hundred dollar adapter for something my 17" Macbook Pro could do without breaking a sweat]), I have three and they've all worked fine for years now.Are you using Apple's adapter or the cheaper Monoprice one? NEC PA272W-BK-SV
Should arrive any day now.
I'm using a ViewSonic VP2772, and an old 23" Apple Cinema Display.
Connected with Mini DisplayPort in the thunderbolt ? Does it work good ?![]()
Connected using a Mini DisplayPort to DisplayPort adaptor cable. It's a PITA that this cable is not included with the monitor.
It works quite well. The VP2772 defaults to having the sharpening turned up, but once you turn down the sharpening, it looks very nice.
i also have heard mixed reviews at best. I have the apple adapter i bought about 3 weeks ago when i ordered the nMP from apple. Honestly, i unboxed it yesterday, plugged it in and that was it. 24 hours, no issues. according to system info, it's revision 1.03...please tell me that's the stable version![]()
thats a good choice but the Asus PA279Q and Dell U2713H share the same panel at a cost of $800, vs the $2k+ of the NEC.
What makes the NEC so much better then Asus?
Did you do the sRGB hack to get 10 bit color?
Can you tell more about this hack to get 10bit color? I was trying to make sure i get 10bit color from my monitor but did not manage to verify.
