I will be using two Dell U2713H. My only question is, is it possible to connect them with two thunderbolt-cables and get the full range of color range?

I do not think so.
The spec says, "Color Depth: 1.07 billion colors". This need 10 bits for each RGB.
( 1024 x 1024 x 1024 = 1.07 billion). Hardware support 10 bit color, but OSX does't I think.

I'll use 27" TB display and EIZO 27 inch ColorEdge monitor (CX271).

But with this connection over two Apple Thunderbolt-Cable the monitors will work in 8 bit? I don't want to order these cables for 90 EUR and then they don't work.

The cables I use are not two Thunderbolt-cables. One is the cable attached to TB display, and the other is Display port to mini-Display port cable come with EIZO monitor. I think, both display will work in 8 bits at least.

Why is everyone speculating?

A bunch of people here already own the nMP.

I am using a NEC 302 with the Spectra View and a Sharp K321 (4K).

I suppose that's theoretically possible. I never encounter any HDCP protected content in real life, but I suppose if I ever did it might be an issue. I watch BluRays and iTunes movies on my television, not on my computer. Is that what you're doing that poses problems?

shouldn't be an issue. one of the first nMP units tested when they first shipped in Dec'13 was connected to a 30" ACD through the [expensive] dual link adapter, which i have....although my nMP stills says FEBRUARY!

2 x 27" Cinema Displays (non-thunderbolt)

Curious how you'll hook those up, I have 3 led cinema displays and looking to upgrade to a NMP and would love to use my existing monitors rather than buying new Tbolt displays. Thanks.

You do not need TB displays.

The LED Cinema displays will work just fine with the nMP, simply plug the monitor into the TB connector on the nMP (miniDP is the same FF as TB).

this thread could use some pictures ;) :D

HP LP2480ZX DreamColor display connected with mini-displayport to displayport adapter, Wacom Cintiq 20WSX connected via Thunderbolt to DVI adapter.

I'm a photographer so color accuracy is very important to me. For that reason I use the 30" NEC MultiSync PA301W. I have a buddy that works at a high end digital lab in Chicago and this was the monitor he recommended I buy and I have not been disappointed. One of my favorite aspects to the monitor is NEC's AmbiBright technology. There is a sensor located on the monitor that gives it the ability to adjust brightness based on your lighting conditions, which is really nice as the lighting conditions change a lot in my studio given all the natural lighting I have. It works extremely well. Most displays are only able to display 72% of the NTSC color gamut, but the PA301W is able to display 93.3%, a pretty big improvement. If I remember correctly, its also able to display 97% of the Adobe RGB color space.

It definitely cost a bit more than your standard fare, but if your working in the graphics or photography fields, its definitely worth the additional cost. I am currently using it on my old MacPro, but I just placed the order for my new MacPro earlier this evening and there is no reason for me to upgrade or to buy a new one. This monitor is only a year old and still has plenty of life left in it.

Wowza... quick scan of the prior posts and I don't see any mention of wacom cintiq! I'm onboard with that, plus an eizo coloredge on the side.

I'm going to be running 3 30" Dell monitors (u3014 , 2560x1600 *3). I'm trying to find a mount that can hold 3 30" monitors at the moment...it's not easy.

If you find one, please post it here. Most of the mounts I've looked at seem to be limited to 20 pounds per monitor.

Brightness control of TB display, when bootcamp

Yesterday, my nMP arrived suddenly. I set up windows 8.1 using bootcamp assistant. And I found one issue. When Windows is running, I think, I have no control of the brightness of 27" TB Display.
Does anyone know the software tool which controls brightness of TB display under windows?
If there's nothing such a tool, I will use EIZO's display, which arrives tomorrow, as main screen for Windows.
