I don't have much headroom to go bigger now.. Even using the Nexus 4 seems tiny now that I use the Mega. I didn't ever think the Nexus 4 would feel insignificant before but it does.

I can see myself sticking with 5.8/6.5 inch screened handsets going forward.

Would you trade your Mega for a Note 3 ?

It's funny - there are still some people who prefer the 3.5" size. Hey - who are we to judge?

I gave my 4S to my wife, and I'll admit something feels right about it every time I pick it up.

Even over the iPhone 5. I don't think it is all size, but it does have a very good feel.

Apple needs to return to its roots. By offering a 3.5" display they could really prove their power over the masses who worship them.

There's little difference since Apples version of a 4" was to lengthen the display but limit its width to the same as the 3.5. It worked too, look how many were tricked into boasting about it and singing Apples praises as a huge sector of faith based Apple lovers do.

Then they'd stop whining & trashing the larger choices that go against Apples beliefs. All would be well in the garden of Apple.

The whole "religious conspiracy" thing is so old and beaten to death. The 4" display retains the same one-handed usability while providing more screen space. It's not magical or anything like that, just practical. You may not see a big difference, but some people here obviously see the difference between a 4" and a 4.5" display, which is the same difference.

Were there people that had to eat their words about 3.5" being perfect when the iPhone 5 was announced? Absolutely. But most iPhone owners aren't primarily concerned about the screen size, and the increase to 4" was welcome but not mind-blowing.

Just a WAG from a rough approximation, but it seems like people who have moved to a larger screen, after they get used to it for awhile, just do not want any part of a smaller screen. Now there are some exceptions, like for people who are unpleased with an OS or a skin, but generally, you stay with bigger. I have progressed from an old LG flip, to a Droid, to an S3, S4 and now I am eyeing a Note 3. I get used to larger size phones very quickly and enjoy them, especially if the resolution stays high.

Why do people have to get used to a bigger screen? I thought people wanted, no, demanded, a bigger screen.

Two of my friends had the bigger screen, and they went back to the iPhone. Granted, one is a female who didn't want to give up extra space in her purse, but still....

I wanted a high end Android phone. Unfortunately, you can't get one with a smaller screen (or physical keyboard). Getting used to a larger screen didn't take too long for me. I'm used to it now. Getting used to a touch screen keyboard took me 6 months and I still feel that I'm just tolerating it.

iPhone 4/4s, IMO, had better build quality than iPhone 5. True that the glass was not the best or most ideal for a rear panel, but for its time, it was a great design. Same color on both sides. Apple logo was underneath the glass. Aluminum backing was already used in the first gen and iPhone 5 is known to scrape on the sides.

I think the iPhone 5 feels a bit too thin and light. And sharp. iPhone 4/4s had the right slimness abt 9.3mm and weight although it didnt have the same rounded edges like the first three gens.

I dont think it really is based on the screen but the actual dimensions of the phone. I remember the old BB Bold 9000 had a width of 66mm but it was 15mm thick. And HTC One or Nexus 4 are 67-68mm wide but have abt 9mm thickness which makes far better for me to grip than a BB Bold with a 2.6 inch screen. Dimensions is what matters but I say it can be like getting used to it. Like driving a Hummer or Escalade and then going back to a sedan. For girls, I can see them using phablets because they carry purses. I see many girls here with Galaxy Note II.

I can see myself in the 4.3-4.7 inch screen range as long as it is no longer than 68mm wide and 10mm thick. I find the HTC One to be a tad too tall for my taste. Nexus 4 is abt the right dimensions for my taste. Even the dimensions of the Xperia ZR with a 4.55 inch screen is abt right.

This wasn't the case for me. I sold a Samsung Galaxy S3 in favour of the smaller iPhone 5. One of the reasons was to have a smaller phone in general. :)

I went all the way up to the note 2 and now I am back to a nexus 4. I wish there was a high end 4.5" android phone with 4.3" of usable space.

I have a S3, and I do admit to wanting something smaller to carry around. That being said, for my current use, the S3 is ideal. I use it for e-reader, surf the net at school, emails, and phone. File transfer is also blissful. HOWEVER, soon I will return to my place of work from school and we are not permitted cell phones in the building Sooooo if I am hardly ever going to be using it/looking at it... whats the point of toting around something so large? If the damn cell phone makers actually used enough brain cells to put flagship specs in a smaller phone size, I am sure they would be pleasantly surprised at how many people Would buy them!

I would rather not switch back from Android to the next gen iPhone, but there are some things that Apple wins at (for my needs) that seem to indicate I will be coming back!

I went from a Galaxy S3 (4.8") to an iPhone 5 (4").

It's quite a bit smaller and took some getting used to for sure, but I don't mind it.

I prefer typing on a smaller screen, bigger is obviously better for viewing photos, browsing, etc.

Picked up my old iPhone 5 last night and wow it felt so damn tiny.. Was unreal

Apple will probably respond in 2014 with a larger screen. They might have waited too long to catch Samsung, who is running away with the smartphone market. When Q3 figures come in, they will be shocking.

Can you see Apple making the screen too much bigger though? Personally I can't see the need for a screen any bigger than say 4 and a half inches maximum. I have seen it suggested Apple are holding firm on screen size and can't see them entering a route where one day they will wish to downsize. It would increase fragmentation with apps and the devide between the iPhone 4 and iPhone 5 is only just being tackled and rectified.

I don't see how screen size being increased is the key to selling more iPhones. Apple have just done pretty nicely this quarter and I think if someone wants an iPhone, they know what to expect anyway.

I've just gone from a galaxy note to an s4. So I actually went down from 5.3 to 5.0. It felt like a massive reduction at first but I'm just about used to it now. I like the fact that it's a lot easier to hold than my old note was.

I went from 3.5 to 3.7 to 4 to 4.7 inch screen phone.

Yet, I'm eyeing an Xperia ZR at 4.55 inches and an Asus Fonepad at 7 inches!

4.55 inches - 5 inches is probably my limit. That is about as far as pocket-friendly as I can go.

But a 7-incher tablet that can make calls like a Fonepad would be great as multimedia/browsing/gaming device first and secondary phone. Skip the 5 & 6 inchers and go straight to a Nexus 7-like phone called a Fonepad!

I prefer 5" sized display over 4".
But I also prefer IOS over android for its apps and better service and contents.

So I'll leave my iPhone 5 only for a bigger iPhone not for a bigger android.

For me software is more important than size, I use too much iOS apps that I can't find in android neither alternative of the same quality.

And what about SIRI and Spotlight?

Come on guys... Size is not the most important thing in life... :)
