The ability to sort App Store search results by things like Average Rating, Number of Downloads, Date Added, Name, etc.

The ability to actually move photos out of the Camera Roll and into another album.

Official support for WiFi tethering without paying extra. It is none of my cell carrier’s business what data I send between my phone and my computer by WiFi. The only thing that should matter to them is whether I’ve exceeded my monthly cellular data allotment. As long as the data traffic goes between my phone and their cell towers, that’s all that matters.

A simple and easy way to “unpurchase” (return) an app, within say 14 days of purchase, with both Apple and the app developer returning their shares of my payment.

The ability to view two apps side by side. I don't need a full multi-window desktop experience, I don't need true multitasking with a dozen apps running, I just want to be able to read things in one app and write notes about it in another without switching back and forth.

The biggest thing i would like to see is an easier way to share files between apps. Something like a central documents folder.

I think we're going to see some big changes to iOS 6 in June.

Apple in iOS 5 have added a bunch of features that people have been crying out for. I think they probably feel that they have now added all these little things in, and now it's time to start innovating the OS.

A lot of the OS has remained unchanged since launch in 2007. If we are truly going to have a post-PC operating system in iOS, then we need some changes.

Here is my iOS 6 wishlist:

- App interoperability
Android does this pretty well, and so does Mac OSX. It's the ability for apps to talk to each other directly. An app should be able to exchange data with another app in a way that is seamless. When I open a webpage, I can share to Twitter since it's baked in, but if I had Facebook installed then it should also appear in a 'Services' type of menu panel when I share.

- Rethinking the home screen
The home screen with the grid of app icons has remained basically unchanged since iOS 1. There have been different metaphors tacked on over time like multitasking and folders. But it's starting to look a bit dated, especially with the smart ways Windows Phone is presenting data to the user and Android's use of widgets. I'd like to see a Apple rethink this and come up with a smart solution that is better than anything else out there. A grid of icons is not particularly inspired anymore.

- Rethinking multitasking
Clicking the home button twice to bring up another row of icons to multitask feels very clunky and is a poor implementation of multitasking. I'd like to see Apple completely revamp this in iOS 6. The way Web OS handles multitasking is superb and even the failed Meego did this much better. There has to be a better way than what we have today.

- Siri API
Apple needs to make a Siri API so that developers can hook their apps into it. This is a no brainer and will help Siri become much more useful.

- Better Maps and introduce Navigation
There have been a lot of rumours that Apple are working on a new Maps solution. This is desperately needed because Maps on iOS are looking stale and unloved. I want to see new features that leapfrog the competition. Android is running rings around iOS when it comes to Maps and Navigation.

- Something new
It's time for Apple to surprise us again in iOS.

-Attachment button on Mail app.
-Reminders app: Be able to maintain the complete task on the original list, and also be able to sort the task manually. Also on the calendar view the days with a task should show a mark or something.
-iPhoto Library iCloud sync. Be able to create and modify events, faces and places. Also the workflow on iPhoto IOS app it's a mess.
-Zoom on faces on the Photo app, Faces section, same as in iPhoto (mac).
-Subscribe to Podcast and automatically download.
-Close all the open Apps on multitasking bar.
-Better info on settings. in iCloud panel there are something missings like the sync of iBooks collections and bookmarks or Game Center games. in the usage panel there are some apps missing like Photo app and Pages doesn't show the real usage on documents.
-"Open in..." option with the pdf storage on iBooks.

And I really, really want a Preview or Finder app... Just to preview the files and organize them on folders.

A dashboard app that sync the post it with my mac dashboard will be great, also

Well I use the built in twitter all the time. I don't have a Facebook account and will never create one. Build in Facebook support would be an utterly wasted feature.

If I forget to take my phone with me/lose it on way to work at least I can then keep an eye on who's been calling me and return their calls from landline or other mobile phone.

There's apps to do that on android but non on iOS, if that's down to the security restrictions imposed on third party developers on iOS thats fair enough, but in that case maybe Apple could look at filling those sort of gaps themselves.


2) Location based reminders I'd like to see some sort of scheduling ability.

e.g. 'Remind me to pick up stamps if I'm near the post office on a saturday between 9am and 5pm'

'Remind me to book in at work if I arrive there between 7am and 9am and repeat that Mon to Fri'.

In above examples I don't need reminded to pick up stamps if I'm near the post office at 1am as its going to be closed (and I know I'm not going to be anywhere near it Mon to Fri), Likewise I don't need reminded to book in at work after 9am (if I'm not there by 9am I'm not going to be in the office that day)

Would cut down on need for reminders to constantly be firing up location services 24/7 (instead they can be scheduled to come on at 7am and off again at 9 etc) which might aid battery life.

Love these ideas. The 2nd seems like a gross oversight that it's not there already.

MySpace integration! I'm joking. Including Facebook integration next to Twitter while giving users the ability to turn it off in settings. I, personally, get sick of seeing "tweet" in every sharing option because I'm not really a Twitter user.

"Ringer only"/night mode (calls only) for iPhone would be nice.

I'd love a "Sleep mode" for when I'm working nights where most calls will be ignored, but if certain numbers (ie, my parents) call they'll get a message asking if the phone call is important than being able to press one or something to ring through.

I'd also like the ability to add songs to a "now playing" queue of sorts so I can specifically choose to play songs in an order without adding a new playlist. It'd be helpful for parties (much like iTunes' party shuffle) and handy just if you wanted to choose your next song while listening to previous song.

Maybe Apple could make the lock screen image the camera slider (though I like it the way it is) and put a button in the bottom-right that, when tapped, takes you to the list of apps you have allowed access to without entering your passcode or password. Or, Apple could change the camera slider so that instead of opening the Camera app it opens the said list of apps. In the meantime, someone could make a jailbreak tweak that does the job.

I'd also like the ability to add songs to a "now playing" queue of sorts so I can specifically choose to play songs in an order without adding a new playlist. It'd be helpful for parties (much like iTunes' party shuffle) and handy just if you wanted to choose your next song while listening to previous song.

As I see it, this would be more useful if you didn't know in advance which songs you wanted to play at a party. If you did, you'd probably assemble a playlist before the party.

One thing I have never understood is why weather app always shows sunny and 23 degrees, likewise the clock showing 10:15. When will apple make these update automatically for the iphone? Especially the clock. They do it for the calender! Also the youtube app icon looks out of place and silly.

The whole layout is getting stale. Also, I think for the iPad the enlarged iphone look doesnt suit it. It should have a lot of options for different styles. Like having have of it for widgets or something.

May I add that Android has a cool homescreen layout. That deserves to be on the iPhone.

The way i see it, more people will buy a $500 device if Apple lets them choose between the ease-of-use of iOS as it stands and the openness of Android.

New feature suggestion: If people want openness on their iPhone, let 'em have it. If they just want simplicity, give it to them.

This isn't really something that should require an entire os version change. Should be in 5.2 or something, but the ability to sync podcast position across multiple devices without using iTunes or a 3rd party podcast app would be nice....kind of like how iBooks works right now. I'd like to be able to listen to podcast on iPhone and switch to iPad without needing to sync with iTunes first.

This is the main thing. If I have a dozen apps that take the place of websites – Huff Po, NFL, Facebook-whatever, etc, etc, I want the system to be able to see the url and say, oh, the user has marked that domain or doc-type for app-Z, so we should open it in that by default, just the way the App Store or iTunes pops up on certain links, or the way the YouTube app does/used to do that. It would be like a simplified variation on the old "InternetConfig" application from the classic Mac OS days. Only apps that are aware of this feature would work with it (there would be switches somewhere in the Settings app). With so many apps available on the store, this is a no-brainer. Mainly, I want to use my preferred web browser to open links, instead of Safari.

And then, we could take what the iOS concept has become – many of my apps replace website bookmarks in a way – and extend it to its logical conclusion: let me put bookmarks on the home screen, and let any app offer this kind of option if the developer is down with it.

And, for iPad, I would pay extra for "pro" features like file system access and other geeky stuff, even if it had nominal limitations. It is the sensible thing to do in this "post-PC world".

Something has to be done with multi-tasking. On a Mac each open app is a click / swipe and a click away. On iPhone it's double tap home, tap, double tap home, swipe, tap, etc etc.

I'd like to see more share to or share this options everywhere. For instance, to share a contact you have to go into contacts but it sends it as an iMessage anyway. Why cant I go into iMessage and hit the camera icon and choose contact instead of photo. Same for your current location. Same with mail. We need an attach file type function.

Alternatively I want share to options to be more prevalent. Why is the only sharing options on YouTube either email or tweet. I want to hit the share button in YouTube and get the same options everywhere, email, tweet, message, etc. Same with safari. I can tweet a webpage but I can't one click send it via iMessage to a friend. I know there is copy paste but meh. I don't want to have to generate a new email message just to copy the YouTube link form it, switch to messages, and send it. Yuck.

They really need a sharing UI that's consistent and then they could make it extensible. Imagine if just installing the Facebook app added sharing via Facebook. Right now apps have to go through this whole sign in and accept the app thing to get that functionality when it could be built in. You add a photo sharing app like instagram and boom, now when you click share on photos instagram is an option.

Also I'd like to see Messages turned into something more like iMessage for the mac is. Add aim, gtalk, etc and then I can uninstall at least 3 competing messaging apps.

I don't know if anyone has posted this, but I would love to see a jailbreak for iOS6 and in it I would like to see a whole new style of Winterboard. One that is 10x better. That is what I would like to see. Even if apple can make a tweak like that. Something where users can post their own iPhone theme and then you download it off the AppStore and install on your iPhone.
