Safari not automatically refreshing whenever you switch between tabs. Seriously, why? No internet browser on the planet does this except Safari. Its the most annoying thing on iOS. If I wanted the page refreshed I'm more than capable of hitting the refresh button myself, knock it off.

Also, fix iMessage. Everything that is wrong with it.

I doubt there will be too much app to app communication. It will open iOS up to apps stealing info from other apps. Ie, a game that you think is innocent might steal credit card data.

Not sure about you being able to put the app icons anywhere. It will look messy and not apple like.

This is the main thing. If I have a dozen apps that take the place of websites – Huff Po, NFL, Facebook-whatever, etc, etc, I want the system to be able to see the url and say, oh, the user has marked that domain or doc-type for app-Z, so we should open it in that by default, just the way the App Store or iTunes pops up on certain links, or the way the YouTube app does/used to do that. It would be like a simplified variation on the old "InternetConfig" application from the classic Mac OS days. Only apps that are aware of this feature would work with it (there would be switches somewhere in the Settings app). With so many apps available on the store, this is a no-brainer. Mainly, I want to use my preferred web browser to open links, instead of Safari.

And then, we could take what the iOS concept has become – many of my apps replace website bookmarks in a way – and extend it to its logical conclusion: let me put bookmarks on the home screen, and let any app offer this kind of option if the developer is down with it.

In the meantime, you could contact the app developers and ask them to add a URI handler to their respective apps & launch the app by redirecting the browser to a URL that begins with a URI handler.

Example: Let's say the Huffington Post app has a URI handler, huffpo. Then the URL of a news article might look something like huffpo://article/article-name-or-id. Then, when you go to an article, the Webpage will launch the app by redirecting Safari to the in-app URL of the article.

The page refreshes because Safari ran out of RAM and needs to reload the page.

Swipe up from the bottom to open the multitasking bar.

Media controls in notification centre rather than the multitasking bar.

Full Siri UK localisation.

Siri API so that I can tweet to siri.

That depends how the transaction happens. If you take the queue from OS X say PubSub systems then the App with the data has to advertise that data's existence the receiving app than grabs the info and asked to be told of updates. Unless the app advertises the Sensitive data then is not going to be stolen . If they do then they could already use that info how they please.

or say Services again the App with the sensitive data has to open a channel for that data to be collected.

I think there is room for Apple to do something really interesting here.

Oh other wish on top of faster access to switch WiFi on and off.
I'd like less need to think about it. Apple should be able to get a rough enough idea of when I'm near my trusted WiFi networks from Cell Trianglation and switch it on as needed, like time of Day to receive newstand updates or if i activate an app that could use local connection. Even flick it on for short while once i hit home each night to do local or iCloud backups.

What I have long wanted to see Apple do is give their own "Time Capsule" the ability to Home Share media directly. (And ideally backup my iDevices directly too)

Digging almost all of those ideas. Especially built-in Facebook, larger folders, app store improvements, and Siri improvements. (I've had no issues with Siri, but i would like more commands)

I'm wanting...

1) Better file management - easy way to share multiple files to any app quickly
2) Widgets on the home screen, and widgets in the notification centre
3) Redesigned YouTube app
4) Delta updates for apps

There's a list of many hundreds of things I'd change about iOS, but the most important thing is sorting out it's file management so you can get data on and off the device more easily. There is absolutely no reason iTunes should be involved in this process - user data should mount under USB, bluetooth file transfer should work, I should be able to organise my photos into folders and not have them appear in the camera roll, I should be able to upload files via the web browser, and apps to upload and download data should be able to access other applications files.

It is *crazy* that we have the current situation. It makes iOS so hard to use.

iMessage needs to actually work with contacts. Apple needs to work out how to unify email address/phone numbers somehow so that multiple message threads don't occur. Its confusing especially when you end up reply to the wrong one and the recipient doesn't receive it on their iPad etc.

Simply changing the caller ID isn't ideal as you still end up with 2 threads if the sender only has your phone number. Its an awful messy system that is ruining my family and friends experience.

FaceTime needs to auto detect contacts that are able to receive FaceTime calls and auto add into the address book. Similarly ios devices should show up correctly labelled in the address book.

Apple should REALLY stick it to the Phone Providers by allowing VOIP - i.e. the iMessage of calls - wifi only of course! added into the phone seamlessly.

It also needs siri to work in the UK. Its embarrassingly useless and doesn't understand my average southern accent.

iPhoto needs to not look horrible. I can't believe it was allowed to be released looking so tacky. It also needs to replace photos at some stage and work seamlessly syncing between the OSX version.

Documents need to sync with no user action. A simple toggle at the top right of pages/numbers (in OSX and iOS) should sync the document with iCloud, and likewise remove it.

Dropbox is incredible. Apple need to either integrate it within all OS's/Buy the company out or think up a suitable cross platform (i.e. windows) rip-off.

iOS needs to be able to airplay music to MULTIPLE airport extremes at the same time.

Geobased reminders DESPERATELY need improving (like somebody already mentioned). You need to be able to pin point the location on a map instead of having to enter an address in the address book.
I'm sure they are waiting to release their new apple maps/satnav thingy for this though.

Reminders need to sync directly with OSX for them to be useable. Currently I have to use evernote which is OTT and clunky. I think snow leopard should resolve this though.

What has struck me as the result of everyones replies is that apple needs to play some serious catchup, or as soon as people start becoming bored of apple and the sparkle wears off, they will become frustrated at being strung along every release.

Whilst I understand your personal need - I used to work the same way years ago, I don't think iOS is for you. It will never work that way as thats not how your average consumer functions.

It is absolutely how the average consumer functions.

I'm sorry, but it just flat out is. The notion the average consumer doesn't upload files to the internet or send files via bluetooth is daft. They do, in numbers that dwarf the entire iOS ecosystem.

Uploading photos to websites to sell stuff would be good. But I don't think I need a full on file system. It's the way we used to do stuff. Maybe it's time for a new evolutionary way forward.

I'd like to see one big thing, two finger swiping for page changing in Safari--like on the Mac.

Secondly, I still like the overall look and feel of iOS, but during the March Keynote Tim Cook was pictured in front of a screen full of app icons. The icons were different than they currently are. They had a 3D look, almost like the keys on a MacBook Pro/Air keyboard. It's a small change, but it would really make the OS look slick.

ImageUploadedByTapatalk HD1333504397.961363.jpg

Lastly, I would like to see some kind of file system access. Even something like a simple document browser that shows all the documents I have stored within various apps. They could be arranged by type or time created, something like that. At the end of the day I just want to be able to create an email and add multiple attachments. It's a hassle for me, and the people receiving my emails to have to have a separate message for every single document.

It's a long shot, but I'd really like to see more Exchange integration. Especially for categories for calendar and mail. Flags would be good, especially to add to tasks and follow-up in a specified number of days.

1. QuickReply for Messages (other IM apps, but I only need the default messages app)

2. Status bar notifications. Need, for example, if I "ignore" the notification banner and it rolls away, I have NOTHING showing it came without me doing an action. (swipe NC down, or close app to see badge). Bugs the heck outta me.

3. SBSettings-like toggles in NC is not a necessity at all for me, but would be nice.

Things i'd like to see:

1. A redesigned iPod music app with a much brighter interface.

2. Swipe up from the bottom for multitasking.

3. A separate Game store from the App store. I like to browse the top apps and sadly, it's too clogged with games for me to find something I want.

4. Shortcut widget in Notification Centre much like NCSettings to get switch wifi, bluetooth, data etc. on and off.

This could be awesome. I am a fan of modding and tweaking IOS. Maybe Apple could allow third party tweaks for ios even with its approval.

theres a reason android is an open source and iOS isn't, are you kidding me tweaks? U honestly think apple would approve that?

lmfao dudes make me laugh sometimes, wouldn't you think the jailbreak tweaks would of been in the app store by now?

apple will never approve those.
