I'm sure this is already listed, but i'd like a "downloads" folder to hold files centrally to share between apps. Then apps could just have a "save" and "open" section in the menus. It'd help a lot.

Example:
Take a picture with Camera+ and instead of having to save it to the camera roll, load it in another app, save it to the camera roll again, then delete the first version, you can just save to the downloads and keep saving over (overwriting) the file so there's nothing to delete over and over.

I'm sorry, but it just flat out is. The notion the average consumer doesn't upload files to the internet or send files via bluetooth is daft. They do, in numbers that dwarf the entire iOS ecosystem.

Odd... then no one I know comes close to the average consumer. I consider myself and advanced and heavy user and I hardly ever transfer stuff via Bluetooth, none of my friends do on a regular basis either. USB is much faster (both in terms of data rate and usually in terms of setup) or using Dropbox or the like.

Most of the files people upload are pictures to Facebook or the like, and that's easy enough to do with an iPhone anyway.

This is the main thing. If I have a dozen apps that take the place of websites – Huff Po, NFL, Facebook-whatever, etc, etc, I want the system to be able to see the url and say, oh, the user has marked that domain or doc-type for app-Z, so we should open it in that by default, just the way the App Store or iTunes pops up on certain links, or the way the YouTube app does/used to do that.

I didn't read the rest of your post or check if someone has already said this but this can already happen.. Apps can set up a app url as such. Ie, click a link with skype://username and it could open the skype app (on computers and mobiles).

Thats up to app developers to implement.

theres a reason android is an open source and iOS isn't, are you kidding me tweaks? U honestly think apple would approve that?

lmfao dudes make me laugh sometimes, wouldn't you think the jailbreak tweaks would of been in the app store by now?

apple will never approve those.

Well duh hence the title ONE THING IN IOS 6 YOU WOULD LIKE TO SEE

without being realistic at all? thats never going to happen

might as well have windows 8 as a virtual machine on the next release of iOS6 as well.

might as well have a pepsi formula in the next type of coke.

a whopper in a mcdonalds meal.

hell make the new ps4, an xbox.

what some are saying bout the tweaks is just out of the question.

1. Decent file management

Get rid of the "Camera Roll" and give us proper album organisation. What's the point of having albums if you can't move stuff out of the "camera roll"? It simply copies them. Its flawed and messy.

2. Fix the animations in the music player. When I turn the phone in landscape the album art transition is laggy. Not impressive.

3. Take recorded films out of "photos". A video is not a photo. DUH!

4. Allow us to remove the incredibly stupid and pointless bookshelf folder, its so pointless that I cannot even remember its name. Oh wait... Newsstand I think it is.

5. Incorporate reminders and calendar into a unified application.

6. Give us a quicker way to turn on 3G. Having to scroll through three menus is tiresome. Perhaps a switch under the Wi-Fi switch?

7. FIX the awful iMessage.

8. Enhance "Notes".. its too basic right now. Give us some more options. Maybe underlining, columns, tables etc.

9. Fix push notifications in "Mail".

10. Give us some more live feeds to enable in Notification Centre.

This is all I can think of right now and as you can see its not asking for much. This stuff is pretty basic.

MORE FREE RAM, more stability, better battery life. I'm sure I'll have more fun ideas too though.

I'm completely ignoring that whole "one" thing.

1. Major Siri improvements and new features
2. A better Notification Center with additional widget support
3. Turn-by-turn directions Maps with Siri & Compass integration
4. Additional Camera features like timer & burst shots and panorama mode
5. More elegant Multitasking with something like Mission Control for iOS
6. Facebook integration
7. GamCenter with a complete redesign and a new Game Store just for games.
8. FaceTime group calls on iPad with 3G/4G option.
9. Improvements on App Store include additional filters, shopping cart, wishlist, background downloads, and sharing support.
10. Lot more customization including live icons, larger folders, option to hide stock apps, etc.

You nailed it. Only thing I would add is Dedicated Podcast app, Unibar in safari like ML(much needed with limited space on the screen), Siri API available for developers, Weather on lockscreen (not efficient to press home button, slide, passcode, press app icon), and iWallet (all your debit, credit, and gift cards in one app and possibly a feature like Apple Store where you can purchase right from the iPhone).

Android is faux-open source. They don't accept any community contributions, and only a very few manufacturers have access to the current codebase.

Android is open source because mobile malware is fun, and Google can prove it!

YouTube to output 1080p video on iPad, I get jealous watching Vimeo and its glorious full HD support.

I actually like the camara roll. It's not like we're using two separate devices eg a stills camara and a video camara so it may aswell stay in camara roll. Allowing me to then sort into albums is perfect.just one mans opinion :)

Agree on underlining in notes. Just have basic functions like I'd have with a pen and paper. It's only notes after all, not full on book producing.

Two thoughts I've had since my last post.

On the iPad how about a "Dashboard" area that you would access from any screen by pulling down with four fingers. In the "Dashboard" area would be apps like weather, calculator, a simplified version of your calendar. Basically similar to the Mac. Apple could add a "Widget" category to the app store so developers could build simple apps for it.

My second idea is more difficult to implement. And stolen a bit from Windows 8.

I would love the idea of having a way on the iPad to run two apps side by side. And I think there is a way to do it. With the iPad in landscape mode you would double tap the home button to bring up the app switching tray. From there you would drag one app to the left side of the screen. Then you drag another app to the right side of the screen. Both apps would run at 1024 X 768 the same resolution as the iPad 1 & 2. Tap targets would be harder to use but if you where just referencing a webpage while typing an email it would work. Maybe at first limit what apps can do it. And maybe only allow Apple apps at first, but open the API up over time so developers can work with. I know it is a rough idea but I think it could work. It would of course be limited to the new iPad because of the screen resolution needed to make it work.

Same here. I'd usually use Dropbox and recently started using Messages for Mac.

Running both apps in 1024x768 would leave half of the screen unused. The new iPad has four times as many pixels as the previous iPads.

There's a list of many hundreds of things I'd change about iOS, but the most important thing is sorting out it's file management so you can get data on and off the device more easily. There is absolutely no reason iTunes should be involved in this process - user data should mount under USB, bluetooth file transfer should work, I should be able to organise my photos into folders and not have them appear in the camera roll, I should be able to upload files via the web browser, and apps to upload and download data should be able to access other applications files.

It is *crazy* that we have the current situation. It makes iOS so hard to use.

Phazer

Apple is moving towards a database system for file management, with their apps acting as clients to control them (think of photos in iPhotos or music in iTunes). There are some advantages to this, but the biggest disadvantage is that you have to use those apps to do anything with the "files" (a term that Apple would probably like you to forget). I don't see them implementing any other file management system, since one of the biggest advantages to their "database" approach is simplicity, which is what iOS is all about.

Except it's not more simple. It's incredibly complicated to use.

I have never transferred a file via BlueTooth on any device.

There's absolutely no need to "sign" your posts "Phazer." We all see your username to the left of your post, as well as the link to your hopelessly outdated twitter page. Talk about redundant.
