Anyone familiar with "Oxygen OS"? Good? Bad?

Also, how does Oxygen OS compare to Motorola's version of Android? (which is almost stock Android)

In my little bit of time on both, I prefer Oxygen OS. Far more customization to be had. However, Moto has the moto actions (or whatever it's called) lock screen that is very hard to beat. IMO, Oxygen OS is better than Moto's Android. But mainly from the customization viewpoint.

I'm waiting for OP5. For the first time since Note 3, I was tempted to purchase S8. But trying it out, I still find that software is laggy. Nice looking software, excellent customization, but laggy!

S8 feels great in the hand, and looks even better. But decided to wait for OP5 to be released, and then I will decide. I own iPhone 7 and OP3t, and couldn't be happier with OP3T. Best Android phone I have ever owned, and since OnePlus has fixed their updating problems, it would be fair of me to at least wait for OP5 to be released and then decide :)

I've never owned an Android phone before (I've had iPhones since iPhone 2G) but I'm ready to try it. I was about to buy a Moto G5 Plus since it's a fairly inexpensive way to try Android (in case I don't like it) without getting a piece of crap phone. But now I'm tempted to wait for this OnePlus 5. Unfortunately for me I already told my son he can have my iPhone since I was getting a new phone! o_O

Having used both, Motorola's is always superior with the exception of the launcher. Motorola has a pretty throwaway launcher while OnePlus has one very similar to the Pixel. The main reason Motorola's OS is superior to me is all the smart little tweaks they have added like shake for flashlight, twist for camera, lock screen with notification previews, etc.

Real deal?

http://www.phonearena.com/news/Here...-like-it-could-just-be-the-real-thing_id93771

Here's a OnePlus 5 concept video that looks like it could just be the real thing

Looks like this teaser has been taken down! Must've been real for anyone who saw it.

For anyone that didn't see it, it has dual cameras similar to Huawei devices, and the front looked a lot like the G6, but with the same looking FPS as the 3T. It looked really nice. The back might have been all glass (wireless charging?). There was also a shot of it in water, which suggests some form of waterproofing.

It looked really good.

The OnePlus 5 will arrive this summer

It might be worth waiting on the S8 just to see this...

Especially if it really does launch in June.

Be interesting to see how much improved it will be. And typically how much more it will cost. Steadily raising prices it seems. But still giving compelling reason to not spend a lot of money on a phone, especially android phones within.

Faster dash charging? The phone seemingly charges the quickest already.

Right on cue: https://www.technobuffalo.com/2017/...rumor/?utm_source=dlvr.it&utm_medium=facebook

The OnePlus 5 could carry a $449 price tag

BTW, the temp mockup in that link looks nothing like the leaked teaser video earlier (that was taken down).

An s8 killer considering the price? We'll see but hopefully it will not be hard to come by to find out.

All it needs are water resistance, a SD slot, and VR experience. It's a tough call to say if someone should spend an extra $300 for an Iris Scanner, Facial Detection, Samsung Pay, Samsung software, an Infinity AMOLED display, AOD display, Gear VR, curved sides with Edge features, Bixby, and other Samsung perks.

If OP includes water resistance and a SD slot, I think they have the best bang for your buck phone ever assembled.

Water resistance - probably. I would give it 90% chance.
SD Card - 1% chance. I highly doubt that we will ever see a OP flagship with SD Card support (OPX excluded!).

No SD card is just an extra incentive for OP to get people to buy the 128gb model. I would even take a IP57 if I were a prospective buyer. The lack of a proper do not disturb mode is a reason why I ditched my OP3 last year.

I use custom roms on my OP3. Since OP was (finally!) nice enough to support community developers, I found that custom roms work even better then stock rom.

If one plus can add a micro SD slot, water proofing and keep the incredible fast Oxygen OS performance they'll have another winner.

If the OP5 has the SD835 + 4,000mAh battery, and it runs a near stock Android OS, this would be a freaking beast of a phone. It would be a battery life champion, and run smooth as butter with zero lag due to the best processor and Pixel type OS.

All for $449 !!! HOLY COW
