Anybody else apply for the camera road-test ?

I read today someone suggesting the price will be in the $480 range, about $50 higher than the 3T.

But if it's over $500 I'll likely pass.Better camera, faster soc, higher resolution? and hopefully a sd card slot are well worth it. It's still 300 bucks less than other flagships off contract
Agreed.For $489 that's still a super bargain, for a flasghiip spec phone.
Smaller? Or just thinner? Hard to tell from this picture.I assume he is hinting the one plus 5 will be physically smaller than the 3T which is sitting on top of the 5 in this image. Hence the look into the shadows reference / hint.
Both I would assume from the picture as it's clear the 3T is sitting raised above and we see no trace of the 5, even if you brighten the image it remains hidden meaning it's sufficiently smaller width & height wise.Smaller? Or just thinner? Hard to tell from this picture.

you sure do complain allot....how do you know what battery life it will get? My S8+ with a smaller battery than other flagship Android phones gets 6 to 8 hours SOT right along side my iPhone 7+ in overall battery life.OnePlus 5 to have smaller battery than the 3T
' No compromises '. Then they compromise by putting in a small battery. To really set it ahead of the competition, the OP5 should have a 3,600mAh battery at MINIMUM, preferably a 4,000mAh.
But 3,300mAh is just meh. Not bad, not great, just ok

So battery size alone in not indicative of battery performance. There are optimizations to factor in as well
My S8 + has a smaller battery than expected...... you and a ton of others complained about when the specs were released. Saying was a fail on Samsung's part. Then in reality it gets better battery life than the Note 7 (3500) and S7 edge (3600) by quite a bit. I think you get all hung up on tech specs. They don't mean as much as they used to. Technology has evolved to where specs are not indicative of performance and user experience any more.I am very critical, don't think of it as complaining. Us consumers need to be more critical for the amount of money we spend on these smartphones. I won't be complacent until I see a beast of a phone released.
Your S8+ has one of the largest batteries for a 2017 flagship, at 3,500mAh. The LG or HTC, or OnePlus or Motorola do not have batteries that big in their 2017 flagships.
Why is it so hard to make that near perfect Android phone;
- SD835
- 8GB RAM
- 4,000mAh battery
- 5.8" screen size
- Form factor footprint size of the G6
- Running stock Android or a good close skin to stock like Oxygen OS
- OLED screen
- IP68 water dust resistance
- Ceramic / Titanium build
To me that would be the near perfect smartphone for 2017. And it's not impossibly specd

The iPhone 7 Plus, gets some of the best smartphone battery life for any flagship released in the last year. And it only has a 2,900mAh battery. But...iOS is radically different than Android as far as efficiency and how it conserves battery, etc... Plus the Apple hardware is extremely well designed and very efficient.
But, maybe Android is finally getting closer to Apple's efficiency ? With Android O's new features, and coupled with the very efficient SD835 chipset, a phone like the Pixel XL 2, could get by with a smaller battery, and get close to 7 Plus battery life.
Then get a Pixel XL2 when it comes out.
That's the plan, or still possibly the OnePlus 5, just need to see official final specs, and maybe some hands on reviews first. But for 2017, the top phones tempting me are;
- Pixel XL 2
- iPhone 8 ( But has more to do with how much iOS 11 is improved and been updated )
- OnePlus 5

I cannot reiterated enough the iphones are not pushing the display resolution some of the current android flagships are. So therefore not comparing Apple to apples.
Add this one to the list: http://phandroid.com/2017/06/02/zte-nubia-z17-official/
Ironically, I am considering those first three as well. I might just up with the Note 8 for 2 years.
