What can we realistically expect from the 6T this year? When did the 5T debut/go on sale?

I'm guessing wireless charging would be the main thing, and probably a "fast" variation on it such as what Samsung offers.

If they add wireless charging, improve the camera another step forward, and only raise the default price to maybe $579 or $599 max, I think the 6T will finally be a true flagship contender.

EDIT: And better waterproofing. That'd be icing on the cake.

I assume so. 5T came out in November last year. I have the 6 now and am quite enjoying it but would go for the 6T if it did offer wireless charger and a better camera performance. Camera is much improved from the 5/5T days but still needs some work.

Wireless charging. Meh. Slower charging that is no good for your phone due to the ridiculous heat it gives off. The smart ones who walk amongst us don't use this gimmick.

while it's not a must for me, it's nice to have. I have a wireless charging dock at my desk and on my nightstand. While plugging in a cable is easy, I do like having it where I can just set the phone down and it start charging and then use it as a desk / night stand clock (especially with phones with good AODs). I haven't once had a phone get warm or even hot while wireless charging. Again, not a must have but when a phone I'm using has it, I'll utilize it. My current OnePlus 6 does not and I'm not overly concerned about it :)

If the 6T hit all three marks: wireless charging, full waterproofing, and dual speakers that'd be really something. And if they further improve the camera, too...

Does anyone know if the 5T had major camera improvements over the 5? Just trying to understand the scope of OnePlus' 6-month refresh strategy.

Nothing new there. OP phones simply obliterate any competitor when performance is the thing you seek the most. Even iPhones.

Good to see that Marcus likes the OP. It’s very easy to get addicted to speed. Once you have tried it there is almost no turning back. The HD screen also ensures that the screen isn’t hogging too much resource.

I have recently moved from an iPhone 7 plus to Android for a bit as I got a bit fed up and fancied a change. I currently have a OP6 and a Pixel 2XL which I got both for about the same money. Thought I would try them and then sell on the one I didn't want to keep.

I have to say that the OP6 is really nice and fast and the camera is not too bad. The battery doesn't last an amazing amount of time but mitigated by dash charging. I am currently erring towards the P2XL though and the main reason is the camera. It is just great, much more consistently so than the OP6. The battery seems to last a little longer too but might be an unfair comparison as the Pixel is on Android Pie and the OP6 is still on Oreo so improvements might arrive for the OP6 when that comes along.

They have really been on top of the security and software updates. Is this the fastest Pie release for a flagship phone other than a Pixel?

Ever since OP3 and OP3T this has been the case.
And beta has been out for quite some time now, I've used it without any issues.

As far as updates go, OnePlus is without any competition besides Pixel.

Anyone update to pie yet?

I got the prompt yesterday (or maybe the day before) I installed it a little bit ago and now trying to root it. Evidently it doesn't like TWRP so working on a work around

Edit: I did get root! Needed to use a modified blue spark twrp image for pie on xda.
