Yes and no. I'm using it on Verizon, and it works fine for me since I use Google voice for calls and texts. But without voice/sms and band 13 it's limited.
But data works fine? What about VoLTE? I am more concerned with data than anything else. My iPhone SE is only used for Google Maps and Play Music in the car.

Data works great over lte on bands 2 and 4, and over 3G. Calls and texts go over Google voice for me, but for others calls and texts do not work. There's no volte or wifi calling with the OP6 on Verizon.

Well, I had a few days off, so took my family on for a vacation in my own country (Croatia).
So as promised, here are a few pictures, all by OP6. Every single picture is a point 'n' shoot style, nothing has been changed in camera settings, and it's shoot by amateur me, so please, keep that in mind.

I hope these pics will help some of you guys out:

Was in Croatia for 10 days earlier this month. 5 days in Dubrovnik and 5 on Hvar. Absolutely love the place. Already looking to book for next year, Pula or Rovinj... Or maybe both.

Erica Griffin's "One month later with the OnePlus 6" video really makes a good case for this device. It's a great option in the Android space.

In regards to software, it's a little frustrating that even OnePlus is figuring out Android faster than Google. Why is Android P's light/dark feature so weak compared to the one in the OP6 software, where if you select dark mode, all the menus in settings also turn black and not just the app drawer or notification pulldown?

OnePlus' latest commitment to software updates is a nice bonus too. I believe it almost matches Google's.

Anyone going to try to grab a red one? I think they release on the 10th. I would expect them to go very fast.

I might try to nab one myself.

The OnePlus 6 is now my go-to phone instead of the Pixel 2
OnePlus is starting to beat Google at its own game.

Some seriously good points brought up in this article, including:

... there are some aspects of the OnePlus 6 that I find better-executed than the Pixel 2 — the first of which is the software experience. That might sound preposterous considering that Google's Pixel phones are widely considered to have the ultimate Android experience out there, but there are a lot of things that OnePlus just does better.

Interesting......now if we could take the Google camera and put it in a OPO......game changer.

With market saturated with phones, competition stiffen, phone makers got to put their acts together by making products better.

Or Google could just stop holding back on hardware and software features.
agreed! I think Google is just in a precarious position. If they make outstandingly great phones, they could step on the toes of their business partners so to speak. Their partners that consume Google services could balk at the loss of sales to Google's hardware.
Personally I think they stay middle of the road software and hardware wise by design. I think they want their partners to make the great products....and be consumers of Google's services.

But i would love to see Google take more ownership of Android as a whole and exert more control. I would love to see a more balanced/standard end to end user experience. Software updates to the core OS would be pushed to handsets regardless of the skin on them and bypass the phone maker. This would guarantee all phones would get the monthly security updates. OS updates would be handled the same way.

There are some technical hurdles with this idea. But it should be a requirement to run Google's operating system.

Any place but here or there....
I love the red version. I may have to give T-Mobile another try and consider the OnePlus6T or the OnePlus7 (when I am ready to make the switch over to Android again). The Android phones on Verizon are not my taste and I do not want more bloatware.

I like hearing how good the software is on this phone among other things. I hope they keep the headphone jack when I am ready to switch again.

Pixel is a great phone. So is iPhone. If it weren't for OnePlus, I would use Pixel or iPhone. I really don't want to use Samsung, LG, Sony or any other phone maker out there. If any phone comes out with facebook/instagram/tweeter preinstalled, I don't want that bloatware on my phone.

But OP is clean, really, really fast, and has great design. All of that for the half of cost of Pixel/iPhone.
Now really isn't iPhone/Pixel competitor. It's a great camera (my own pictures are on this page), but even I as a complete photo newb can tell the difference in night photos.

But everything else is better then on Pixel, at least to me. OOS is simply fantastic.
And with all of that said, if someone from XDA finds another thing from OP and spying on their customers, OP will be dead to me. I hate that sort of things, no matter how anonymous that spying is, I really hate it.

But to anyone considering OP6, give it a try. You really won't regret it, but even if you do, you can simply return it.

This is what I fear and believe, too. And it's why I'm so critical of them in the Pixel threads. They just aren't trying hard enough.

It's seriously a great option in the Android space. I would get this over an HTC or an LG. Easily.

And they just promised great software support and updates. The true Nexus successor.

Now if only they would add wireless charging and really up their camera game to top tier. Raise the prices a bit, I don't mind. That or start differentiating the line up and offer options. I want to see OnePlus grow.

I both agree and disagree with this assessment. I don't see how Google is in a precarious position. What other option would their partners have if they didn't use Android? They have no other viable option. They have their partners by the 'short and curlies' and if Google was smart they'd take better advantage of it.

They want to push those partners to make better devices? Then set the bar as high as possible with exceptional hardware. Customers want access to Google services and the Play Store so they don't need to worry about LG, Samsung, Moto or other OEMs dumping Android as that would be suicide for their smartphone business.

I agree with you on most OEMs....except Samsung. Samsung is in the unique position to sell more phones than anyone else. They could always develop their own OS like Tizen. If they put their full effort and brain trust around making that work it could eventually lead to them replacing Android on their phones. There are technical hurdles with that premise of course but they could throw a ton of cash around to make that work. They have threatened to do this in the past and Google acquiesces. There must be a reason for that. They can see the loss of revenue and potential for Tizen to be freely given away to all other phone makers by Samsung. This would fragment the phone industry and threaten Googles dominance. Especially if app developers got on board.
All of the above would take years to happen. But it is not path Google wants see happen.

Then if Google was in the position you described. Why would they not have taken control and imposed their will on phone makers? All it takes is one company to develop one viable option and Google stands to lose billions. Not overnight but mind you. But if the phone makers felt like they had no other choice I am sure they would come up with an alternative course.
