These process videos on how the phone is made is so Apple like it's unreal haha.

Headphones look decent, and a great price.

Not sure on the phone though, for a start it's far too big for me personally.

Glass back for better LTE reception, but no wireless charging. And no IP rating for waterproofing.

Two weird blunders.

Maybe to protect themselves against people complaining about water damage? Wireless charging isn’t a big enough detractor because people still buy plenty of phones without it.

Indeed, I really don't care about wireless charging at all. Never use it, and never will. Of course, there are also people who care about wireless charging. So for me, it makes no sense into building a all glass phone without support for wireless charging. I really like OP6, and will probably purchase it.

But now I have to take extra care for that device because of glass back. Why is it needed at all?
I would rather that they sticked to their previous design materials. But OP has to follow the trends. Never settle? That is as relevant as Apples 'think different' is. They have settled. A long time ago.

I agree but understand the omission of wireless charging. The induction coil and extra hardware take space and add cost. Wireless charging is still far from widely adopted by consumers--most people I talk to with devices that have it don't even realize it's there for them to use. Hell, friend of my had it built into his car, uses an iPhone X and had no idea it was an option for him.

The omission of increased water resistance is a much bigger deal for me personally. I won't purchase another phone without it, plain and simple. Feels like table stakes for any new mid to high end phone at this point.

I think so too. I think wireless charging should be default on all smartphones going forward! What a great feature to have!
I guess we will have the SETTLE without water proofing and wireless charging for now...

Agreed, considering their motto is "Never Settle". Seems like there is a lot of settling here, for a Notch as well, oh dear.

I hope the 6T will see some decent spec bumps.

The Camera also does not seem that much of a competitor to the likes of Huawei P20 Pro, S9+, Pixel 2 XL and iPhone X.

I must say, 2018 is turning out to be quite boring, and now that we have more phones with 6 & 8GB RAM and +128GB Internal mem, I get the feeling there is going to be great amounts of stagnation in this market in the next few years.

I am looking at this OnePlus 6 and realisingy Note8 does not need any replacing at all.

I think we are reaching a plateau level or saturation point with smartphone technology.

When is the next big thing coming? Hopefully with the Samsung X foldable phone.

I almost don't feel like we need the next big thing. Form factor is virtually spot on. It's getting to the stage now where a lot of manufacturers are giving us hardware with compromise as they think it'll give us benefits in other areas.

Well. As someone with two phones, both of which with notches, I can tell you that these 'innovations' are not beneficial in anyway.
@jamezr has been vocal about the intrusive nature of the notch with the X and how information that was present on your home screen with previous iPhones is now somewhere else because of the notch. And I completely agree. It is infuriating. And why should we be forced to settle for that?

Same with the Android notch. I hate the fact that notification icons are smaller now to cram more in and that my battery percent has to be within the battery icon to save space. It's compromise, but I don't feel like it's justified compromise because I'm not getting anything in return. Sure, screens are then larger due to the lack of full bezel, but I'd be happier with no notch at all.

Unfortunately it looks like it's here to stay. Well, unless you buy a Sony phone. They're so far behind that they will end up implementing the notch in 2020 when no one else is doing it anymore. God love em.

Promising mid-market phone. No wireless charging is a bummer, but it seems One+ throw a lot more in for the price.

I've just finished watching Westworld S1 & those tri-screen foldable devices they use are in my head (dreams) of what phones/tablets may be in future.

For as much as Apple spends suing the pants off Samsung for imitating their designs, how on earth are they not going after OnePlus? This is so blatantly copying, it’s not even funny. The notch, the mute slider, the shape and outline of camera housing, glass back, the antenna lines. Geez.

Nobody cares. And they keep it an original design by keeping the headphone jack ;-)

Because I somehow still need it? AirPods, AppleCarPlay, Airplay? Heck the only headphone jack item I still own is a Square Reader and I don’t mind dongling it for the once I month I use it.

1. I was making a joke.
2. You are not the entire population of the world, but I'm really happy you can afford all those nice gadgets.

At $350, the 64GB OnePlus One was a true flagship killer, and a nobrainer purchasing decision.
At $530, the OnePlus 6 is just another notched copycat, and an expensive one to boot. I’d rather spend $200 for the Mi A1. They both run the same apps.
With Snapdragon 636 and 660 giving kyro cores to upcoming mid rangers, there are less and less incentive to pay any premium for an Android phone.

Then do that. You're probably going to get more value for the Mi A1 than with a $500 phone.
