Gosh dangit. Didnt need a new phone. Perfectly happy with my note 3 i picked up about 3 months ago.

But this morning i received an invite to get the One. So i did what any other reasonable over-indulging American would do and placed an order for a 64gb One.

Buy now, think later.

Damnit a dilemma now. Keep the One or keep the Note3. Dont have a real use to have 2 phones.

I never use the S pen so thats a moot point. But the larger the screen, the better so the Notes .2 inches screen will help.

On the other hand i love cyanogen mod and the stock android look a million times more than touchwiz.

First world problems.

If you eliminate the S-pen...then use both side by side an see which one you like more. Great position to be in huh? :)

Strange .. Seems to be white back, which would make it the Chinese version running color OS?
Actually it allows you to choose color which is stranger ?

If you click on the photos they show a black and white, black is $10 more.

Is everyone just getting white?

just asked on chat and got this:

Yes this is a Chinese version as this phone is mainly intended for Chines customers
Important Information Please note that this is the Chinese variant of the mobile, with CyanogenMod and Google Play installed prior to order fulfilment.
Comes in black and white.

Official international version in 64gb is Black only.

If it is the Chinese version that has been flashed with Cyanogen - OPO have stated that you may have an issue with your warranty being honoured.

Basically this is a scalped Chinese version ....

So i finally receive my OPO but i'm trying to root, unlock etc. I'm of course having a hard time trying to open software and install drivers on my surface pro. Is there a way to root this phone on a mac?

I'm thinking maybe towards the end of the year, when this phone is more openly available, almost anyone could grab a good deal on eBay on a second handed phone.

It's still gonna be an amazing phone to buy with all those specs plus CM.

Maybe on eBay you'll find them at less than 300$.

Hey Sensamic.....shoot me a PM when you get a chance.

Done! Just sent you another one after the first one!

By the way, how's the GPS performance on the OnePlus? That's something I'm really interested in.

Does it find your location without problems in Google Maps when your inside your house for example?

And how fast and accurate is it outside?

The whole invite disaster crap aside, what else is a compelling reason to get the OnePlus One ?

- Price ? Ok, you can the Nexus 5 for the same price, but it is outdated compared to the OPO. But the Nexus 6 is just 2 or 3 months away, will be the same price and newer better hardware.

- Most people buy a new phone on contract, for typically like $149 or so. A brand new Galaxy S5, HTC One M8, or LG G3 or Apple iPhone 5S, will only run you like $99 to $199 at ATT, T-Mobile, Sprint, or Verizon.

- Screen seems ok, but that large size of 5.5" at 1080p I think will be outdated quickly, it seems all newer phones with large screens are going 1440p.

- Size, I think the LG G3 form factor is way nicer for the same sized 5.5" phone, the G3 is more compact and smaller bezels.

I've only had this phone for a few days and the yellow tinge issue aside, this is the best android phone I've used. No crashes yet, FAST, great form factor, comfortable to hold for such a large phone. The buttons are well place unlike the Note 3 I had.

OnePlus, the Chinese start-up run by former Oppo executive Pete Lau, has revealed the specs of its upcoming smartphone dubbed One in an official forum post that is expected to launch on April 24.

Official released phone information:
- 5.5" JDI 1080p display
- Snapdragon 801 (MSM8974AC - Quad-core at 2.5GHz)
- 3100+mAh battery (non-removable)
- Sony Exmor IMX214 6-Lens 13MP camera
- 5MP Front-Facing camera
- 3GB of RAM
- 16GB & 64GB Variants
- Stereo Speakers
- StyleSwap Covers - Multiple materials/textures
- Single-SIM card
- Global LTE
- GSM Only
- Something better than pre-orders
- No front branding
- 2 year CyanogenMod support

Anyone else as intrigued as me?

They could give it away for free or pay me to take it and I still wouldn't touch anything by a Chinese company.

Damn.

I thought I was registered at the OnePlus One forum website, but I wasn't!:mad:

Just registered now to see if I get an invite somewhere along the way :rolleyes:

Might sell my G2. Love the phone, but the GPS is terrible, and I need a good GPS. Gonna check more options, but the OnePlus is right now the best alternative IMO.

Just saw a OnePlus on eBay being sold for 330 euros, which is not bad.
