Mi 4 & OPO are two of the best deals of the 2014 flagships.

These are two of the phones that I've got my eye on to try android. They are well spec'd and well priced and if I don't end up liking android, at least I got to try a bigger screen and can go back to iphone when the 6 comes out :)

I have had the opo for for about 5 days and had enough time to play around to give my thoughts. I have used Samsung Galaxy and iPhone before, the build quality is similar to iPhone even if the back cover is not made of metal it feels solid and the textured back cover is essential to give a firm grip. Feels lighter and ergonomically I haven't had a better phone design to hold considering it's size. This is my first phablet phone and it took me about 24 hours to get used to the size. I don't make many calls so is not much of an issue.
The design is sublime with no unnecessary letters and the front is beautiful and stands out among all the other android phones.
I have been using cyanogenmod for about 2 years so there are no surprises for me but for those who don't it's a nice take on vanilla android. The privacy features are great where you can control every aspect of access you provide to the apps. There is no unnecessary gimmicks or bloat ware like in the touchwiz.
Software is smooth and responsive with no lag or freeze. Great picture and video quality. Speaker output is average but loud enough.
Overall I am quite pleased it's the best phone I have bought to date. This is how android phones should have been and has been missing. Wishing opo and cyanogen mod a bright future with many more such handsets in the future.

Why not trade for the oneplus one now, see how you get on, and should you think the moto x+1 when it is available is better get that then. The would be little price difference in selling the G2 or OnePlus One so you won't lose anything by having a try now.

Have a try, you might like it.

That was my first thought but the guy finally decided to sell his OnePlus instead of trading it. Understandable, since he can get some extra money that way.

So now I might try to sell the G2 and wait for the Moto X+1.

OnePlus One Latest Event & Photos

Here are some photos from yesterday's OnePlus One fan gathering event in Hong Kong. All attendees were given an invite (although I'd say 75% of them already had the phone....)

Included are pictures of the new bamboo back cover as well as the latest system specs/information.

See full album here. Sample photos:

This whole 'invite' system is ridiculous and has completely ruined any chance this phone had of being a major player. If I was part of Cyanogen Inc, I'd be pissed.
A great opportunity wasted, as this phone was originally timed perfectly, giving it months of time to sell prior to the release of the Nexus 6 and Moto X+1. Now it's too late. Disappointing!

Sweet review. Thanks! I just sold my iPhone 5 and Nexus 5, and will be using OPO has my one and only device. Definitely looking forward to it. All the reviews I've read have been great!

Just got mine and it's beautiful. MUCH better looking than my ugly ass Nexus 5. My eyes might be fooling me since I've been looking at too many pictures of the yellow band issue but it's not really an issue, I don't really notice anything bothersome. My screen definitely isn't piss yellow like some I've seen.

That spray on texture on the back cover definitely feels like it would get damaged easily so I can't wait for my case to arrive.

Hopefully third party back covers will be available. I love the look of the bamboo but not for $50.

I also got my OPO today, screen looks great and sound is a lot louder than the Nexus 5.

I think the whole invite thing came because they're a startup company and couldn't produce enough devices for all the demand, so with the invite system they can slowly produce the devices until they catch up with production. It's just a guess.

I sold my G2 today and will wait until August 10th to see if Motorola announces the new Moto X. If it's good then it'll probably be my next device.

If they don't announce it or I don't like it then I might give OnePlus a chance, but I'd prefer the Moto X+1.

I got my tracking information about 24 hours ago but when I track it with USPS, their site tells me that the number can't be found.. Has this happen to anyone else?

USPS can take upwards of 48 hours to update tracking. Then, depending on shipment methods and distance, it maybe upwards of 5 days before you see another update.
In other words, that is normal for USPS.

They have been notified of the shipment. But it has not been picked up by USPS yet. So it can't be tracked yet. Then USPS doesn't exactly have real time tracking data....

Ugh, that sucks. To make it worst, my buddy bought his same day about two hours after me and his tracking info is all up and processing. Just my luck, lol

I got mine yesterday. I tried to look for the yellow color issue but I didn't see anything stand out. The bottom half of the screen look very slightly warmer than the top half but it could be just placebo...

Otherwise, the phone looks like a rockstar so far!

How come?

I already have a device I like (Oppo Find 7A), and I like what it offers (removable battery, up to 128GB SD, Vooc Charging <-- awesome). I also just picked up some Plasti Dip, so I can make the back of my phone have the grip that the One had. There was some things I like about the OPO, it had a good feel to it. Didn't seem that big of a device, and it felt incredibly light.

Also, yellow hue across the screen that I didn't want to bother with. Could it be adjusted to white? Probably. I already have a device that has a white display & I could put CM on if I wanted to.

When I bought the One, I had my Find 7A for about a month. I only bought the OnePlus One to see if it was worth it, plus, why waste the invite?

Got a link? May put in a bit for it hehe

You would be better off listing it on craigslist or here for a price of what you could expect after paypal and ebay fees, you wouldnt have to worry about a scammer filing a claim against you
