OnePlus One best advantage: the price. That's $450 price difference for the 16GB and $500 price difference for the 64GB.

The size comparison makes me feel a little better in getting the IP6 but yes its still bigger.

I do like the thinner aspect but one of my favorite pieces about the OPO is how amazingly light it is for a 5.5 device.

The OPO has more memory at 3GB..............

:) also

$450 provides you with EXCELLENT customer support - not palm you off with excuses and expect you to pay $50 to send a damaged item back to them.

Ability to purchase device when YOU WANT in any store locally to you

No hoops or stupid publicity stunt or social media spamming.

No yellow tinted screen - blamed on your eyesight or you not understanding their fantastic backlight technology (developed in urinals the world over).

YOU GET WHAT YOU PAY FOR ..... as someone who spent months on OPO's forum, I'd rather have all those hours of my life back and pay the extra......

Also lets not forget the VAST MAJORITY of iPhone 6 & 6+ buyers will be buying on contact at $199 & $299 whereas the OnePlus One is not available subsidised because no carrier would touch it with a barge pole ........

Great points.....OPO has made so many mistakes launching the phone!
My experience with OPO was very positive. No yellow tint........no need to contact customer service. The phone was just a little large for me.
If you do get a subsidized phone you still are paying for the phone.....maybe a little upfront but more over time in service for the length of the contract.

True, but I'd hazard a wild stab that most folks don't even think about it over the time, and unlike us - they are generally the ones who hold onto their phones for the entire duration of a contract until they are upgrade eligible again.

For me I could get it on my contract and to be honest I'd only be paying €5 more per month than what I pay now - and even over 2 years thats €120 and based on it selling here for €300 on contract - that means €420 cost - baring in mind I already have a minimum spend. Buying off contract here is €699 for the 6 and €799 for the 6+ So really for many users contract can at times offer better value than off-contract (at least in these parts of the wood). :)

Ouch its bigger than the 1+

Me thinks i'll be forgoing the 6+ then. I already thought the 1+ was too big. A nice device but somewhat unwieldily. Looks like the LG G3 is still the phablet king followed by the Note 3.

Apple really need to shrink down those bezels. Why not put the proximity sensor on top to the right of the earpiece and squish down a few millimetres.

Also agreed about the Macrumoruser's points on the 1+. I emailed them a question about the device immediately after ordering and they didn't get back to me till over a week later when i'd even forgotten what i asked.

Their forum is also a weird weird place to visit.

Selling one right here within this forum marketplace for at least the weekend.:D

If it doesn't sell, to eBay it goes! I see some going for $400 or so which would be nice.

Can you actually buy a one+ now, or are they still doing invites?

pre-order starting in October.

Still invites for now. 210,000+ invites in September.

Did a quick check on ebay. The price of an invite used to be $50. Now, you can buy one for $15-$20.

Demand is still greater than Supply. But Supply is catching up.

My mum got an invite and she's buying herself one... Eh. She's giving me her Nexus 5 but at least by the time the Nexus 5 isn't supported I could buy myself a new phone.

After several weeks I'm still in love with this phone. I was Seriously tempted by the iPhone 6+ but going to wait until the 6s. (0r if OPO put out a even better phone next year)

I absolutely love the phone but I am really embedded in the Apple world with my other peripherals so I had to take a shot on the IP6.

I am attempting to sell the OPO but if I dont sell it for what I want or soon I may keep, test the IP6 and then maybe come back.

Tech world problems.:)

It's still "flash sales" in China for the 64GB instead of open availability like the 16GB.

Someone wrote this about the current oneplus chinese website:

http://www.oneplus.cn/items/0101010601

On the website it says there is a flash sale for the 64GB every tuesday and friday at 10 AM China time. There are limited handsets available at these 2 times, and it is a first come first serve basis.

The 16GB is openly available right now

I hope their production ramp-up nicely so when they open pre-order in October for Western market, the wait won't be too long. Though, I'm guessing 3-4 weeks or longer after you pre-order.

They need to have 500,000 a month in supply for Western market to catch up to current demand.

Honestly, I'm not sure what to think about them. They've shown they have a greater production capability than what they've alloted, so they are using their hype machine to generate demand. And while I think it's a decent device, something about it just feels off. But in any event I hope you're right about them releasing the device through normal channels in October.

Even if you have production capacity of 500,000 a month (or 6,000,000 OnePlus a year), it will take a while to ramp it up.

Look at Google and LG with the Nexus 4. It took them 3-4 months to ramp up production. Nexus 4 was "out of stock" for November, December, January and part of February after it came out.

Demand is still greater than supply for the 1+1 judging that ebay OnePlus One invites are selling for around $20 right now.

Overtime, it will go down to $5 when supply catch up.

And allocation to the Chinese market is still their #1 priority.
