I got the phone about two months ago and my suffers from the yellow band..

Now, I really like the phone but I was wondering if its worth perhaps ordering a new one in hopes that I can get one with no yellow band.. What are my chances?

Does anyone know if there's a high possibility of receiving one without it?

Just sold mine on eBay for $400.

I really loved the phone, had no yellow issues, and was very snappy. The features of the OS was my favorite version of stock Android Ive used and would definitely recommend the phone to anyone.

The aesthetics and hardware were also my favorite over the Note 3 which is saying a lot because I think the Note 3 is an amazing device. The OPO is way lighter and more manageable one handed.

But in the end, ease of use within my Apple ecosystem won out and I am going with the 6+ whenever it gets here.

If you get an invite and want an amazing device, do not hesitate to get this phone as you will not be disappointed.

The OnePlus Pre-order System
http://oneplus.net/blog/?p=223

During a limited time window, you will be able to place an order for the OnePlus One. If we have the items in stock, we’ll ship immediately. If we don’t, it will automatically become a pre-order. No matter what, we’ll always tell you our best approximation for when it will ship before you submit the payment authorization (we’ll reserve the payment and charge you when we ship).

There’s a time limit, but no limit on the amount of orders that can be made. If we get a lot of pre-orders, we’ll simply show you a longer shipping estimation date. Any time after the pre-order time window closes, you’ll be able to forfeit your place in line, cancel the order, and release the payment reserve if you don’t wish to wait any longer. If you receive an invite while waiting for a pre-order to ship, you can apply it to skip the pre-order queue and have your order shipped immediately.

True, but I'd hazard a wild stab that most folks don't even think about it over the time, and unlike us - they are generally the ones who hold onto their phones for the entire duration of a contract until they are upgrade eligible again.

For me I could get it on my contract and to be honest I'd only be paying €5 more per month than what I pay now - and even over 2 years thats €120 and based on it selling here for €300 on contract - that means €420 cost - baring in mind I already have a minimum spend. Buying off contract here is €699 for the 6 and €799 for the 6+ So really for many users contract can at times offer better value than off-contract (at least in these parts of the wood). :)

Its not even close in many countries like the US. Straight talk vs ATT results in a minimum $700+ premium in plan prices.

Here I have a plan for unlimited LTE internet for less than $25 a month.

Is OPO still doing the whole invite thing ? if so thats disgusting.

why disgusting? because.... you cant buy it?

i have yellow band on the bottom and it is visible in a certain bright level (low level). i think it is a feature (build design) and until they change the design, the yellow glow is there. i keep mine, it doesnt bother me so much. hope they fixed it before they start selling this phone to a mass... if you use the onscreen buttons, it hides the yellow glow... i use buttons outside the screen.

My interest for this device died loooong time ago, and trust me I'm used to waiting games :) don't know if you any anything about ecigs but the waiting list for few of the mods were/are pretty big but my problem with OPO was with the whole games and hype they wanted to build; stop hearing anything related to them a while ago and was curious if the situation improved, i guess not :p

i think the phone is awesome but it has same flaws... most the yellowish glow on the bottom (visible only when brightness is low level and on light backgrounds). do these flawes bother you? it is up to you... maybe the next one is way better. the whole concept is great. they cant massproduct (yet) so they have this invite system - compare people camping in front of the apple store... .my boyfriend didnt even noticed the yellow glow until i said - so does it really bother? it bothers me because i know it is there and i see it on everytime :D however if you use the onscreen buttons, you dont even know the issue...

I am selling one for a good price on the marketplace.

I love the phone and mine is flawless without the yellow band but I am in the Apple ecosystem and preordered the 6+.

Seems interest has faded on the phone though.
