Don't you have to pay $99 for that deal?
Nope. $200 straight off the $1,699 price. I didn't select to trade in a phone.

The $200 off is probably until open sales begins on October 26th. So, you better get it before the $200 ends.

I just checked and $200 off straight discount
Yeah I see. It was not clear whether the deposit will also be deducted from the total price, so I just called OnePlus and that is the case. I also have a €250 voucher.

So a total of €1799-€250 = €1549. Would have preferred the $1699,- like you get in the US, but hey, our price includes VAT. The €1549,- with 512GB and the free Buds is simply a good deal.

So I would have to pay €1450 at check-out if the deposit is deducted. Unfortunately my Oppo Find N2 is not in the list, so will sell it elsewhere.

I'm from Europe, we don't have that.

OK so figured it out now the dust has settled.

You pay £99 deposit, get a voucher for £250 off the phone as a thank you (In the UK that takes the phone from £1,599 down to £1,350) and you get free Buds Pro. Phew that's long winded!

Personally I think it's a very clever way of them getting to find out how many phones they need to sell by doing pre-orders. Now they will work fast to produce those handsets to the number of units they need to ship etc...

Either way for me the phone sits right between the Samsung Fold 5 and Pixel Fold and the screen size looks perfectly balanced to use as a Power phone as MKBHD describes it.

The deposit should also be reduced from the price. Otherwise it's not a deposit.

It should be £1,250

Either way for maybe the best foldable that’s a good price

But do you US guys get another $200 discount if you trade in any phone. Or is that after the short pre-order price. Otherwise that would be a super deal. So 1499-200 or 1699-200?

Granted, power users can take advantage of the multitasking features… but I think any user that owns a big phone will enjoy a foldable.

And there are plenty of users who are into phablets. I was at Crackle Barrel the other day... waitress asked me about my experience with the Galaxy Fold because she mentioned how she was into big phones. So, the idea that foldables are for power users… yes, to some degree.

But I find it caters more to people who are into big phones.

I'll report back once I've read and watched the reviews. Kinda funny how their motto is 'never settle' when they don't offer wireless charging with the OPO 😆

That’s an interesting concept of multitasking… it’s different, I like it. Wish they found a way to do add resizing windows (apps), but nevertheless… what they have currently is quite good.
Moving an image or object from one app and space to the 3rd is not going to be fun or easy. I noticed they omitted showing or talking about that.

Whether its easy or not.. it all depends on the user. I'm looking at it from the perspective, it's different from what we are accustomed of seeing.. the 3rd window (app) added can be phone-like size OR tablet size positioned down below.

Samsung multitasking method is to have the 3rd window (app) into some miniature size, which can be really small on 7.6" display. But where Samsung has the advantage is the Pop-up view feature... and users can resize a full screen app (window) from the top left and right corners.

Their site says the $200 off is guaranteed WITH a trade-in of any device, so it’s not a straight discount—still have to trade in something.

It looks so bloody good I think I'm gonna buy one at some point. I was thinking about trying Android again with Pixel 8 but it wasn't special enough (in particular in the camera department) to warrant a purchase. I've been wanting a foldable for while now and I think this is the one.

Also you can get 2.5% back by using Rakuten. Which helps drop the price even more.
