a better place
I doubt that I will pull the trigger today, awaiting reviews as well. If it goes to backorder then so be it. I will just wait it out down the road if I am still interested.

I'll wait till first reviews. If there isn't going to be an invite system then there is no panic in my mind to order one as soon as we can.

Ugh those 3,500mAh battery rumors were wrong :( This phone with a 3,000mAh will be ok, probably good battery life, but nothing amazing.

Large phones should get larger batteries. Why do the smaller Galaxy S7 and HTC 10 have 3,000mAh batteries, but bigger phones like S7 Edge or Nexus 6P have 3,600mAh and 3,450mAh sized batteries respectively. The OnePlus Three should at least be matching those other similar sized phone batteries.

Plus the overall design screams of HTC + Galaxy Note design. The rear and sides look like an HTC One design, and the front screams Galaxy Note 3 / 4 design. That cheesy chrome ring around the home button is so lame looking. Should have put the fingerprint scanner on the rear. I still say the original OnePlus One was their main hit, and since then their other phones not nearly as cool. I still have the original OPO, running the latest CM13 ROM, it's my backup phone, and still a pretty bad ass phone today with CM13, I see zero reason to get this THREE, I'd rather get the Nexus 6P when it goes on fire sale in Aug / Sept for like $299, or spend a few more bucks in September and get the new HTC Nexus-N phone.

How fast do software updates typically come to these phones? Is the software that different from a Nexus?

Lets just say that Oxygen OS updated to Marshmallow officially hasn't even come out of Beta as yet for the OP2 and is nowhere to be seen on OP1 & X.

Because the resolution is still 1080P.

Guess I'm out then. The price and hardware was tempting me a bit.

Because the resolution is still 1080P.

1080p screens vs. the new 1440P screens isn't as drastic a battery saving as you'd think. The newer Samsung OLED displays are very energy efficient, even at that higher res.

3,000mAh, that's the smallest battery yet for their main OPO phones. The One had a 3,100mAh battery, and the Two had a 3,300mAh battery, so I was hoping the Three would then be 3,500mAh, which would've made this phone very desirable. But at 3,000mAh, no USB-C, no waterproof, and Oxygen OS with very slow update record ( worse than Samsung ), I have to pass on this.

Wow, it got great reviews from everyone! The Verge even gave it a 8.6.

The temptation is back
Yeah I'm looking at it thinking " shall i buy the white one? " and then i look at what device I'm using ( the HTC 10 white ) and it looks so very similar that i think to myself; " am i just buying a device near identical to the one in my hand and if so what is the point? "

Even if it is cheap. Not sure about it ...

The phone is dirt cheap, great reviews, etc. I am enjoying my 6p, but I am getting weird bluetooth issues, and the battery life isn't amazing lately.

I don't really want to get into the rooting thing again, but the phone is so cheap; if they don't get a timely update of Android N out...I guess I can sale the phone and jump to the next Nexus.

Great reviews so far. Stunning option at that price range. Even I'm tempted. And without the dreaded invite system, this could finally be that game changer (ugh, hate that "flagship killer" term) that OnePlus has always hoped it would be.

I'm impressed. Looking forward to feedback.

PS. I think HTC should be really worried. This is nearly a whole $300 dollars more affordable than the HTC 10. Process that for a moment!

Does anyone know what are the shipping dates/options? Are they shipping right away or a few weeks out?

current estimated arrival is June 24.

I took the 3 minutes it took to zoom through the VR app, and am in the store now. Debating the purchase. Returns appear to be free.

It said dispatched within two days when I got the order form request and it is free shipping. I suppose that timetable can change depending on demand.

Camera bulge, slow updates, 4hr SOT even with 1080p from what MKBHD reports after using it for a week. Not pulling trigger yet.
