OpenNotifier works by hooking into the SpringBoard function SBApplication -> setBadge. When that function is called for an enabled app, OpenNotifier checks the badge count. If it is > 0, it puts the icon in the status bar. If it = 0, it removes the icon from the status bar.a few apps I have set aren't showing status bar notifications, most work, so not sure why a few aren't, any ideas?
That top right icon, is that one for tapatalk?
I'm using an icon pack by a user named "moshed" on reddit and it doesn't have a tapatalk icon so I tried using the tumblr icon. Unfortunately whenever I open the tapatalk app, the icon shows up in the status bar and stays on even when I don't have any notifications. Anyone else have this issue with tapatalk?
no, it's not. I don't have an icon set for tapatalk
I'm using the "stock for opennotifier" pack and don't see a tapatalk icon... but it does have a Tango icon that is a "T". you could set the tango icon for the tapatalk notifications.
Thanks for answering.
I can't really have an icon set for the tapatalk app until I find out why it stays in the statusbar after the app is opened even without notifications =/ the same thing happened with the alarm icon and I'm not sure why. Anytime I toggle on/off any icons in the settings, the alarm icon pops up and won't go away until a respring.
In my experience using the mailbox app (and a mail icon for opennotifier), when I go to my inbox to read my email, even though I no longer have a new notification, the mail envelope stays in the status bar until I close the app. Maybe tapatalk behaves the same way
I just tried this and the icon still stays. I just don't think I'm meant to get ON status icons for tapatalk lol
Haha. I guess not. Not sure what's going on, but tapatalk may behave differently (abnormally) than what should be happening.
Hey, any idea why the whatsapp notification isn't working? It's never worked for me.
OpenNotifier works flawless for WA here. Must be something related to your settings or any WA add-on possibly installed.
Do you get notification badge(s) on the app icon at all once a message is received?
Yeah, I have the badge on, banner is on. The only thing disabled is sounds.
Did you go into the open notifier settings and then the whatsapp setting and choose an icon for it? I had to do this for skype so I assume you might have to do the same for whatsapp.
You can't access iFile. iFile is a program that runs on the device itself. If you don't have openssh or afc2add installed, you cannot access the full file system on your device from your computer. I suggest starting your own thread for this, though, as this is not OpenNotifier related.
HELP! I have a similar problem as UJL. I uninstalled OpenNotifier because some Apps won't open after installing it. Cydia told me to reboot my phone after uninstallation so I did. Since then my phone is in a respring loop and only shows the Apple Logo. I tried to install OpenNotifier again with the Cydia AutoInstall folder (yes I can access with iFunBox) but still no chance. If I try to access via SSH, it says connect timed out (I have OpenSSH installed on my iPhone). I don't want to restore it, do you or anybody else have any solution for me? I don't want to lose my jailbreak
have you tried to boot up your phone while holding the volume up button? this'll disable cydiasubstrate
Does not work on 7.1.1 ;((((((((
Today I spoke with tateu. He said that he will not update to 7.1.1 and update subject a tweak.Patience... the new jailbreak was released less than 24 hours ago.
No, my device is jailbroken on 7.0.6 and I have no current plans to upgrade my device so I have no way to get OpenNotifier working on 7.1.x
