Really frustrating to see your package just sit at a FedEx Facility for almost 3 days, while everything else seems to be moving around........
I'd like to share my recent experience. I had a standing order,placed monday, with Apple for the 16gb wifi iPad. The estimated delivery date was June 2nd, but I was told by an apple sales rep over the phone that this would be the latest day it would ship, and that the order could fill sooner if they were available. I need it no later than May 30th however since I'm giving it as a graduation gift. The next day I read on this forum that Macmall had them in stock, so I called late tuesday night and was pleasantly surprised to hear that they still had them and could ship it that same evening. The retail is the same as Apple's($499). They charged me $15 for fedex 2 day shipping, and no sales tax. Returns for unopened product are handled the same way as Apple, however I'd have to pay for shipping to send it back. This would only happen if someone else decided to give him the same gift and beat me to the punch. I'm ok with this because I figured the money I saved on sales tax would cover the return shipping costs in the event I had to send it back. All in all I was very happy with the service, and even happier to see the package arrive this morning, less than 2 days after placing the order. Followed up by Canceling my order with Apple on-line easy enough. I'm relieved it worked out. This saved me a lot of time and aggravation. Would have ordered it sooner but didn't want to risk being outside the 2 week return window. I would definitely order from MacMall again. Thank you all for your input.

So in all, I ordered it on the 10th. It shipped a week later (7 days, 5 working days). And it took from Monday to Thursday to get to my door once it was marked ready to ship (4 days).

Apparently the California FedEx Ground deliveries just go through Oakland, but to get to Colorado, mine had to fly right over my head and land in Memphis first
somethings out of sync on fedex's tracking system. mine said in transit to Alaska for awhile, then Intl Shipment release for a day and a half then today it changed to On FedEX truck for delivery; no departed form AK or arrival in AZ updates just an Intl Shipment Release then On FedEx.
So maybe its just out of sync and wouldnt put too much on the accuracey of it at the time being
Mine has now been scanned twice in Lantau...once yesterday and once today. I seriously doubt i'm getting it tomorrow despite what the FedEx CS rep said.

I am in the excat same position... My ipad arrived in lantau May 18 at 12:40AM Kong Kong Time... it is now May 21st at 430AM in Hong Kong and My fedex thing hasnt even moved... I called fedex they said something about there being a delay and that my ipad took another route to japan (this is not posted online I had to call them and have them do some digging) they dont know when it is leaving Japan... turns out anchorage was overwhelmed so they changed the route and now they seemed to have lost control over it (they have no idea when it is arriving but expecting it early next week)
Please guys let me know if you hear anything different because I bet we are on the exact same boat
I have the same tracking info as you guys. Hope it gets here tomorrow and Fedex is lacking on updating the tracking info.

I spoke with CS about an hour ago.....she did admit there was a delay in the shipment leaving HK.... But then she said that i should not worry, it will still be arriving tomorrow (blowing smoke up my a$s i presume).... But she did suggest that i call back tomorrow morning to get more details on the shipment.....
I asked her, "Are you sure, that this package can come all the way from Hong Kong Overnight to my home in New Orleans????".....She said "Yes!"......(Again, i assume she is just saying that, cause she knows that is what i wanted to hear....lol)
I never really had much luck talking to anyone in fedex until i talked to their international distribution department 18004554588... they have more up to date information... Once they told me it was in Japan I asked when it is scheduled to leave Japan and she said they didnt have the next leg of the trip yet (obviously not gonna make it for tomorrow as they originally promised)
In other words, I know they are not in Lantau (as fedex online claims) ... Iam pretty sure they are in Japan; but I have no idea when they are planning to get them out of Japan

I spoke to my dad, who works for fedex, and he said that they handle the customs paperwork electronically, and that the package could already be on it's way to Memphis or there by the time it clears customs. so hopefully it is and it will fly out to our respective local hubs tonight for delivery tomo
For anyone who has a package that is in transit from and/or has been sitting in Hong Kong for a few day you will most likely get your iPad tomorrow. My iPad left HK yesterday morning after sitting there for 3 days. The only reason I found out it left Hong Kong is I called Fedex and spoke with a rep who worked in the appropriate department. They informed me that it was passing over Korea on its way to Alaska. When it arrived in Alaska at 2:30PM PST on 05/19/2010 it took exactly 24 hours to be delivered to my house in Los angeles. Call Fedex and get more info on the status of the delivery and if it has left Hong Kong you are in good shape! Good luck to everyone and I hope you all receive your iPad's real soon

Well I ordered mine May 15th it said 7-10 days to ship, 4 days for delivery, well checked the updated info and it says the iPad will not ship until June 1st, a full week past their most conservative estimation of 10 days. What a joke.

Just so y'all know. I ordered on Monday May 10th. Apple said it would be here the 18th-22nd. Fedex said it would arrive on the 25th, and I got it on the 20th.
So for those of you waiting, it might not take as long as Fedex says.

It took 24 hours to make it from Anchorage, through Memphis and to Denver... I might actually get this thing tomorrow
mine has been sitting in Prepared for Shipping at Apple forever now... I'm about to call them up and be like wtf? i just want to track my fedex thing religiously already!
oddly enough within an hour of calling them up, they suddenly posted a tracking number. now the waiting game can begin. i noticed that FedEx has (Pre-sign for this shipment) which is pretty sweet!
Im hoping that it makes it here for delivery today and that the FedEx page is just not accurate..... So i guess i'll find out tomorrow after i wait around all day waiting for it........ oh well, small price to pay ....lol
