I actually modified my order after a bit of reflection and reading. I now have upgraded to an i7 too, ha. I do photo editing, but nothing too crazy, however, I do a decent amount of FCP 1080p film editing, and that will likely soon become 4k, so it seemed worth the paltry increase in money for a 6-8 year machine. (I've been using a 21" iMac since 2011).
27-inch iMac with Retina 5K display
• 4.2GHz quad-core Intel Core i7, Turbo Boost up to 4.5GHz
• 16GB 2400MHz DDR4
• 3TB Fusion Drive
• Radeon Pro 580 with 8GB video memory
Now delivering one day later, so Jun 17 - Jun 21 (Ships: 4–6 business days). Probably arriving the same as my original order would have.
Yea. It's tough sometimes ordering a new machine. All the excitement and such. Still IMO the $200 is worth it for the i7. It's not like you're ordering a MBP and battery life is important.
