There is a common misconception to people who are new with Face ID. You don't have to wait for it to unlock before you swipe up.
Pick up the iPad, swipe up (make sure you're looking at it) and it'll just work. The swipe up/Face ID unlock happens at the same time.

Well this is weird. I have 3 deliveries coming today. My IPP and Pencil and an Amazon order. All were scheduled to be delivered by the end of the day. I just got an email from UPS that my Amazon order will arrive between 9-1:00. Hoping that my Apple orders will come then as well. No updates on their delivery. Sad.

Mine will be here tomorrow. I'm trying really hard not to go pick one up today. Surely I can wait one more day :-0
Thanks for that. You’re absolutely right. This is my first device with face ID, so it’s taking a while to adjust.
One thing I must say, is that the setup is an absolute breeze. I remember the days that you had to reserve a day to transfer everything over. Now, it really does “just work”.
This thing is pretty nice . I was able to return the iPad my wife bought by accident and pick up the one I bought this morning for her and then drop off her new iPad, keyboard folio and pencil at her work. (She works in IT and one of the very many things she’s in charge of is the school districts iPad program...so she gets to play with her new iPad and people think she’s working lol). Got home and my new iPad is all done restoring from back up. Just checking out the keyboard folio right now. It’s going to take some getting used to for sure...I’m so used to using the screen keyboard on my old 9.7 IPP. I like it so far though. It’s more sturdy in my lap than I figured it would be.

Lol I was actually making the bed in our second bedroom and saw that the truck was going to be coming down the road soon so I decided to hang out and see how accurate the tracking was. About two minutes later I see the UPS truck coming, and then it started to slow down and turned down my street! Driver told me that I was actually scheduled to be his last stop but he didn’t see the need to wait since he knew he was going to drive right by me to get to his first stop. So dude was cool as hell....went from last scheduled stop to the first. I was quite happy to say the least.
Ugh, wish this was an option for me as mine is right down the road. For some reason they don't open until 6 PM.
Picked my 12.9” iPad Pro at 9:00 am at the local UPS office. I’ve only had time to unbox it. Boy does it look fragile, I’m going to get a case for it as soon as possible and treat it like eggs until I get the case. I also want a screen protector and no one locally has any.

Per Follow My Delivery on UPS... this darn truck has been driving around my house... ALL DAY! lol I've waited 7 days, guess, I can wait a little longer.
I've owned every iPad since the first one. This is the biggest update ever!
