Which package (ie weight) was it that left China. And which city in China?

I assume its the iPad: 1.20 KGS from EPZ, China.
[doublepost=1541169299][/doublepost]Considering both iPad and Pencil are engraved, they might have been shipped together.

The iPad Pro 11' Wifi is only 1.03 pounds and the Pencil weighing only 0.73 ounces, I assume they are in the same box weighing 1.20 KGS (2.6 pounds).

Both are on the way! I have horrible anxiety, so the wait for 5 additional days is already driving me crazy. My Folio case will be arriving today, along with some other new gadgets, so that'll keep my mind busy for a few days!

I'm pretty sure they don't ship together in the same box. From what I've gathered here, the 11" iPads weight 1.2kg, 12.9" iPads weight 1.5kg, 12.9 keyboard folios are 1kg, and pencils have been both .2kg & .3kg shipping weights.

I'm not sure where EPZ is...I'll have to look it up but that isn't the origin city for pencils anyway...so they would be shipped by themselves regardless.

Looks like EPZ stands for export processing zone. There's a bunch of them in China so the 11" iPads could be coming from anywhere. I'm willing to bet though it's near Shanghai though, which is the first stop that the pencils go after they leave the factory.

But regardless, at least it looks like some iPads are actually starting to move. Now it would be nice to see the 12.9's move as well. They've been sitting in Hong Kong for about 36 hours now. 12.9 keyboard folios are there too.

I’ll add that the 11” ASK is .7kg.

iPad still in EPZ, pencil is in Osaka. Hope to see some movement from iPad soon!

Has anyone seen their status from Apple move from preparing for shipment yet? Been stuck at PFS for almost two days straight now here.

Still preparing to ship on the Apple app but the iPad just popped up in my UPS app sitting in Shenzhen. Too stoked for this. First iPad Pro for me.

Nope. My Pencil is making it's way across China this morning but nothing from Apple. Trying to remember at what point it flipped for our phones. I figured it would be with the departure scan but not so far.

Got a departure from Osaka, Japan for my wife's pencil. So UPS105 is the flight number and scheduled to get to Anchorage at 1:37PM local time this afternoon...so in a little over 6 and a half hours.

I expect we won’t see anything from Apple until the devices arrive in the US.

Yeah, I've seen it vary over the years. Sometimes Apple will say shipped as soon as UPS takes possession and other time not until the departure scan from the originating airport in China.

I've never seen a pre-order shipment wait that long for Apple to change status. Not unless they are already here in the US, which these orders aren't. But anything can happen.

My order in Australia still sit in order in progress. (Delivers 07/11/2018 by Standard Shipping)

If it follows iPhones for the last couple of years, it will update to shipped per Apple once it lands in the United States.

Looks like our 12.9 iPads and 12.9 keyboard folios that have been sitting in Hong Kong for 36 hours or so aren't on either of the two flights out to Anchorage that left a few hours ago. If this is the intended path (HK to Anchorage) for these shipments then we might not see any movement until Sunday night/Monday morning, because I'm not seeing any UPS flights from HK to Anchorage for the rest of today and tomorrow at all. That is, unless the scan just isn't reflecting on UPS' servers...for my wife's pencil just about every departure scan didn't show up until it had an arrival scan at the next stop. Same thing happened with our keyboard folios...didn't show departing Shenzen until they got to Hong Kong. So hopefully that's all it is...just not updating on UPS' end.

I didn't upgrade this year but got the X last year and I definitely remember seeing it originate in China and following the flights through Anchorage to Louisville and then Chicago. I spent the whole day off waiting for the delivery (paid UPS for the first delivery window between 9-11am to have it not delivered until after 2pm that day. I even had the real time tracking for that order once it was on the truck. The UPS driver spent 5 hours driving around places within a 2 mile radius before finally dropping our phones of. lol But yeah I know it didn't wait until they got to Louisville or Anchorage before Apple changed to "shipped".

I am in the Nov 13 - 16 date range. I never thought the Pro would sell out within a few hours! I also have a pencil & ASK ordered. I have two items showing up in UPS: one is from "HON HAI PRECISION INDUSTRY CO.,LTD SHENZHEN, CN", is 1 KGS & is on the way to Chek Lap Kok, Hong Kong. I assume this is the ASK. I have another that is from "COMPAL WIRELESS COMMUNICATIONS NKG, CN", is .2 KGS, & is on the way to Shanghai, China. I assume this is the pencil. Both are scheduled for deliver on the 7th. I don't expect the iPad to show up in UPS until late next week. I paid $8 for expedited shipping for the iPad, though, so it may not ship until next Monday if it is indeed not going to be here until at least the 13th.

Just checked. almost two-week backlog for a 12.9", 256gig.

Either they did not make enough yet, or these are going to be quite the popular item for Apple.

I would bet on the latter.

This event, at least to me, finally broke thru that whole, do I need a notebook or an iPad for a whole lot of people.

It did, you just tracked by following UPS tracking like you are now. But yes, previously it used to say shipped earlier, that changed in the last couple of years.
