No. Trim support is just that. When Trim is enabled either by a third party utility (Trim Enabler), native in the OS (Apple SSDs), or by a terminal command (OS 10.10.4) the result to the SSD is the same. The Trim routine is active.

I have been using Trim on my four Samsung SSDs since my first series 840 in September of last year. I have lost no information or data on any of my drives using Trim, either with Trim Enabler, Disk Sensei, or the Trimforce command. I have not read of any Macintosh user with a third party SSD of any make being injured by any sort of data corruption when using Trim.

but what is the problem, is there any real difference using TRIM enabled with DiskSensei or TrimEnabler ... and now the latest "trimforce" by Apple?
I have a Apple OEM SSD in my iMac. After the 10.10.4 update the "Trim Supported" field is no longer shows up when I look under System Report storage.
So far so good, at least on my 2010 MBP. I had installed a Samsung 840 about a month ago, so it's nice to get trim enabled. On my iMac, I'm having less success. Attempts to download via the update are not working, and when I tried using the combo updater, the updater hangs. I guess I'll keep trying later on.
Apple's Trim driver is closed source, but it is believed so far that Trim on OS X is not using this new queued implementation, and that this warning message is instead referring to very early Sandforce SSD's (from the beginning of Trim in OS X, around 2008-2009). These drives did have notable issues when using Trim in OS X, for example boot or emptying trash taking forever (>3 minutes). Just speculations at this point.
I have an Early-2009 Mac Mini with 64GB Crucial M4 SSD (apparently had some problems with TRIM before latest FW which I have) and a Mid-2010 iMac with 256GB Samsung 830 SSD (many say works fine without TRIM). With the Mac Mini I used TRIM (via terminal hack) prior to Yosemite and with the iMac I've never used TRIM.
So which would be the best route to take right now?

- Forget about TRIM and continue using these computers without it like I've done for a while now
- Take advantage of the 10.10.4 TRIMFORCE command and possible get slightly better performance and longevity while taking a small risk of data corruption in the long run
- Pay $19 for Disk Sensei, enable TRIM via the app and get a good app (although I've done okey without such an app so far) and possible better performance
I'm opening up a 7-day trial mode with the update releasing today. And making the Trim feature free (accessible after trial expired).

Used TE for awhile without issues. Reverted to going TRIM-less with 10.10 on its release.

Anyone have any thoughts on the safety of doing this given some questions about data corruption with some SSDs? Have not found anything particular to the older Crucial devices like mine.

I enabled trim via apple trimforce on Samsung 850 Pro FW EXM01B6Q seems to work fine
Couldn't it take awhile for any degradation to show up?
I've been using a Samsung 840 EVO with trim enabler for 2 years and have seen no problems.
how much you have of read and write? model brand?
there was measured on Wednesday and has not changed.

Yes, I did it. Speed was the same. Intel 520 120Gb. When I bought it speed was higher as I remember.

I have a new iMac 5K which I've just successfully upgraded to 10.10.4.
I have an external Thunderbolt drive bay with a Samsung 840 EVO in it, and looking in system profile I can't find it anywhere. (I do see it in finder). I've enabled TrimForce for it, but would like to be able to see it in the profile to verify that Trim is in fact enabled for it. I've looked both in the thunderbolt section as well as the SATA, where of course it doesn't show up. Any suggestions?
