After all changes in DP3 it looks very good on my 27" iMac too.

I'd disagree. I think the 27" iMac's pixel density is just barely low enough that the helvetica neue font is a little bit rough. Not unusably so. I'm looking forward to the retina iMacs which should hopefully be out before Christmas if things… follow the same pattern they have for the last 2 years. :p

I think we are still at least a few years out before we see 21" retinas, not to mention 27". It's just too expensive. But maybe Apple will do what they did the rMBP and introduce more expensive retina models alongside the old ones...

I don't know if anyone has mentioned this yet but if you have translucency enabled for the menubar and you look closely on the menubar icons (Battery, Apple logo, text, etc) it's actually slightly translucent.

I noticed it first when I upgraded to DP3 when it launched using the original Yosemite wallpaper. It's a small nice touch you don't notice that much.

Went ahead and updated to Yosemite and it is a nice improvement! Wifi speeds seem a bit sluggish at moments, but everything else is nice :)

Reminders alert tone

In Mavericks, the default tone for Reminders alerts was 'Basso'. Can we now select the tone in Yosemite, or has the default tone changed?

It looks like you're delayed for the first update by 4 weeks, and the second update by 1 week. Update 1.0 came out on June 16th and developer preview 3 update 1.0 came out on July 7th.

Problem is, white text on black is actually harder to read than black text on white on monitors. Luckily, they have the transparency to save their asses, but it still doesn't work. It's hurting my eyes. I thought they wouldn't go anywhere near the Pixelmator route, but really, that's what they did. It's better, but they did.

They should go with light gray text instead. Think of FCPX or Logic Pro X, or Aperture, or GarageBand, or iMovie... now THESE are pro interfaces.

Actually, I find the darker UI of the latest Logic Pro update harder to read than the old one as well.

Is the shared network drives back in DP3? Thanks.

Might've missed this but can you set DuckDuckGo as your default search engine in Safari with 10.10? I know you can in iOS 8, just checking for Yosemite. It's gotten a lot better and I'm definitely setting it as my default on my phone, would love to on my Mac as well. Thanks in advance.

You can... on my 10.9 Mac, I'm just using the extension in Safari, but it will be nice to do it natively.

I didn't see this mentioned before but FaceTime has a new settings panel and the ability to disable/enable continuity for calls.

I think it's about time we had an "apply to all desktops" function for wallpapers. It's been this way since 10.7, I don't know why this option was never available in the first place.

Yes.

Some changes I noticed:

Dark Mode:
- The menu bar is much more readable, the separator lines are bolder. They also fixed the wifi menu bar list issue.
- System Preference for Dark Mode has been demoted to a checkbox.

New iTunes design, along with a new icon:

So...why does the new iTunes not have any transparency? Let's at least make the app consistent in terms of design with everything else...

IMO, the new iTunes design is TERRIBLE. All those icons, and just way too blocky.

......OK soooooo I really need to get alerts on this I overslept again I thought it was iOS 8 that was release today....ANYWAYS IM HERE.....I'm late...

So basically they re-themed iTunes 11 to look a bit more like OS X Yosemite. Hell, it doesn't even have a proper transparent sidebar.
