That's good :) What does it look like, is it solid white? Also, does it affect the drop-down menus? From the screenshots it looks like the drop down menus take on the same amount of translucency as the menu bar.
 
Have apps like iTunes, App Store, Notes, iBooks, Game Center been updated in this beta? If so, any screenshots? :)

It wouldn't take me long either but it's the first thing I tried after hearing someone say it might be back to 10.8-behaviour. Happily it's not; it works the same as in mavericks.

Maybe 8 will be less hideous than 7...do think they heard us?? Maybe this 'no privacy' is a good thing. :)
 
Can someone please install and run OpenGL extensions viewer and tell me what the Core Profile version is please?

App Store - v2, looks the same though
Notes v3
iBooks v1.1
Game Center v2

will put up some screens later
