It's a little laggy because it's a gif but here it is.

Menubar.gif

Thanks. So awesome, but it feels like this should have been an option a long, long time ago...

It feels weird to have have both the dock and menu bar hided. it's like when the mac boots and the menu bar is missing until you click on the desktop and it appears :D

It really seems as if the buttons on the toolbar are a bit more glossy again, with subtle gradients.

Yes, there is. Lots of it. Starting with the metaphor of the desktop, the use of buttons, shadows on windows. The whole layering of windows and objects is there to simulate depth, including the frosted-glass effect. Yosemite dispensed with the rich and textured design, but not with skeuomorphism as such.

Let me rephrase then: there is no more skeuomorphism in El Capitan than there is in Yosemite.

Deprecations and Removal Notices

• OS X 10.11 is the last major release of OS X that will support the previously deprecated garbage collection runtime. Applications or features that depend upon garbage collection may not function properly or will not launch when the runtime is removed. Am I the only one who is *a bit* worried about this?

Indeed, but El Capitan seems to be re-introducing some slightly richer design elements again, which is probably what the other poster meant. ;)

They do have a gradient now. Do the menu bar have a little bit of gradient as well, i just feel like it's a tiny bit curvy/round more like the the same amount as the buttons have just a tiny bit :)

You don't use a Retina display, right? The new typeface seems pixellated and oddly spaced in many areas. :/

Did i just see the Cube animation in the end of the Installation on 10.11? Booting up after restarting when installing loading bar comes up over halfway then the cube animation comes in and the says completing installation with the apple logo and loading bar.

Nope don't use a retina display. I have only noticed that in the notification center where it says "Today" "Notifications" it's not centred right and the text is blurry as hell

Yeah, I saw that too. Let's hope for improvements!

Yes you're the only one. iOS uses ARC, which is partly why it doesn't need much ram to run properly.

Does anyone else find the new appearance of the page swipe in Safari annoying?
Can you show it?

I like that they work on it, perhaps they fix that annoying bug I experience all the time where the page gets stuck mid-animation and can only be fixed by closing the tab.

THe little things are nice. But performance boost is awesome news. THeres nothing in particular I miss except that. And after I got my retina iMac, screen stutter a lot in Expose and Application Windows and such. I wonder if the update will handle the huge amount of pixels moving across the screen better. Once Adobe update their tools to use Metal its going to be happy days.

Here's halfway through a swipe. It uses a less pronounced shadow and just darkens and lightens the page underneath. It's annoying because the change from dark to light looks like a flicker when swiping fast. I can see the reason for it, but i'd rather for both pages to just be the same brightness.
