When I resize a Finder window, it is hiding the sidebar automatically, when the size is small enough and showing it again when size bigger. Is it a Yosemite or an El Capitan new feature?
It's new, and good job for spotting that. The Finder sidebar is hidden while resizing the window if it's resized past a certain width (looks to be 456px).

Is it possible to upgrade from mountain lion to el capitan without having to go first to yosemite?
This is far too vaguely expressed. What I mean is that el capitan is still in beta, but once it is out of that phase, will I be able to jump over yosemite directly from mountain lion? I guess we won't know until it happens and if it does, I am coming round to taking yosemite now, rather than risk getting left behind totally. I understand that yosemite is best in a retina machine, so it is worth upgrading now.

Yes, you'll be able to upgrade from Mountain Lion to Yosemite or 10.11.

It's up to you if you want to upgrade to Yosemite now or wait for the release of 10.11. The look of Yosemite is more Retina-minded, and you'll get better compatibility with newer apps/security updates.

Apple support for Mountain Lion will be dropped when 10.11 is released.

If they did, everything would break since python 3 is not backwards compatible.

No, it wouldn't. Both python2.7 and python3 will co-exist, python itself can be sym-linked against python2.7 and for scripts depending on python 3, they can !bang python3 instead.

I honestly don't recommend upgrading from ML to El Cap. You should do a clean install of El Cap to get the most benefits of the upgrade. You're jumping over two OSes (Mavs, Yosemite) to get to El Cap, some of your settings and so on may break and you may experience a lot of frustrations.

Is there an ability to "remind this" on web pages, emails etc. in OSX10.11, as in iOS9?

Someone's probably going to tell me that this existed in Yosemite and even Mavericks, but I just went to a website and there was an option to "add to passbook". I was expecting an error, having never done this before let alone on my laptop, but it just seemed to do nothing. And less than 10 seconds later, it's on my iPhone. I'm impressed (even if behind the times).

What was the website, out of curiosity. I feel like I've purchased plane tickets before on Yosemite and wasn't given that option to add my boarding pass when I checked in online.

The Apple system for logging in is just awful. They even want to approve my bank card details. I have no intention of buying any apps!!!

People can install python 2 by themselves if they want. Heck this might even cause more people to finally move away from python 2.

Or as most linux distributions do it these days, include both python 2 and python 3

I've already tried and found out some of the problems from experience. I log off around 2 hours before your post was made. I'll wait for el cap to be released and try then.

Does it create a reminder with a link to the webpage? Also, is it available for emails as well?
It looks great...

There is something, but it is very incomplete (yet?). If you select Share → Reminders in Safari, it creates a Reminder with a link to the root URL only. From Safari you cannot drag'n'drop links to the Reminders app. On the other side, there is no Share button in Mail, but you can drag'n'drop mails into Reminders' lists. It creates a nice "Show in Mail..." link. Dropping anything to the Reminders icon is also not possible, which is a shame IMHO. So let's hope this will improve during the betas.

Yeah but if you have a million pythons scripts to automate your system and then upgrade, you have a problem.

Of course, having both versions available is a different story.
But what would happen in this case if I type "python bla.py" on the terminal? Will it try to run my script with 2.7 or 3?

Typically, Python 3 is installed as "python3" and "python" is Python 2.
