Finder is absolute garbage all around, but what apple could do at the very least to improve is two things;

  1. Add option to have folders displayed up top (alphabetically but before all other files)
  2. Add option to have cmd+x/cmd+v act as cut/paste to MOVE files, but also fade out the files that have been cut. This is essential when selecting many files within a folder of hundreds or thousands of files.
Why Apple hasn't even added these two functions as an OPTION is absolutely pathetic. 2016 and a 600 billion dollar company cannot even get basic functionality down right.

I am the opposite of a power user.

Whatever they do, I'd really like to not have to deal with a dialog every 30 minutes telling me I need to install Java.

I'd also like it if my Mac didn't get renumbered every time I log in from locked screen (computers on my local network can access my computer at Mac-mini-1476.local; I expect to break 2000 by the end of next week).

The installing Java thing is probably caused by something installed on the Mac you have. Re: Macs renumbering themselves: Yeah, this is surely annoying. I want it fixed just like you do, and I am a power user.

Guys Do you think this time we will see a user interface redesign?

I will like to see something more aesthetically closer to iOS without losing any desktop functionality - ergonomy, starting with the dock going edge to edge of screen. That thing is so 90's it makes me want to install office 2000 and say hello to Clippy.

Same for Settings and Finder. I mean compare them with spotlight or notification center, there is no design consistency between them.

...

Also NTFS support, right click create new document, option to delete unwanted APPs like chess would be great.

User interface design consistency? YES PLEASE.

NTFS read support already exists, so I'm sure you're looking for NTFS write support to be enabled, no? I'm sure Apple is capable, but I think they don't want to enable it as long as Boot Camp exists.

Right-click to create documents isn't a feature I'd use, but hey. If it makes life easier for switchers from Windows I'm for it.

I'd personally vote for the ability to hide (but NOT delete outright) unused apps that came with the OS.

Yes, sorry, I mean write support. Problem is that the only hdd format that works with OS X and Windows is FAT32, I not only find it less stable and less secure than NTFS but also it's not compatible with old XP versions, so actually there is no a good option to share files over USB.

Hide option would be great too, I just don't want to see things that I don't need / use.

ExFAT works with OS X/Windows. I use it all the time, especially since you can't write files larger than 4GB on FAT32. Not sure about ExFAT and XP tho.

ExFAT support can be enabled on Windows XP by installing an update from Microsoft. This particular update wasn't published to Windows Update, though.

Yes! I was talking about ExFat... sorry again. You've to be more carefully with this format when removing, allways on secure or you could lost data, never had a problem with NTFS. In my country XP is still present on almost every work place - public service so it's a real pain using this format.

Supercharged Dock:
- Right click on Safari shows "New Window" and "New Private Window" even when Safari is closed.
Seems likely this would become a new API for apps to put items in the Dock menu regardless of whether they are running in a very similar fashion to the options offered by force touching an icon on iOS.

Things That I Would Like in 10.12

• Time Machine Menu-Bar Backup Animation
• Them to NOT get rid of the Dashboard yet (if they're thinking about it...)
• Fix Mac App Store (Get rid of the sandbox)
• Revert Disk Utility back to its more functional state (10.10 and earlier)
• Add Siri
• Improve Photos (make it like iPhoto was)
• Every monitor should have a Dock (for multi monitor users)
• Rename OS to "macOS" (We've been using System 10 [OS X] for too long!) (Although the name was always cool)
• Make stability more like Snow Leopard

I would like to see more overall stability/performance of the OS. Don't really care about new features.

Have the ability to remove any features that are added but I do not want/need (like in Windows, you can add/remove some features).

For example, if Siri is added to OS X, I would never use that nor would I want that on my machine. Having the ability to remove that feature from the system would be awesome.

Does anybody else find it obnoxious when you're expected to converse with a machine? E.g. call 1-800-VERIZON and it wants you to talk to it but it doesn't understand swear words. At least Siri does!

But we need Siri to be added first so that we can remove it! :p
I really don't get the hype over Siri on desktop... it will happen eventually, but hardly anyone will actually use it productively.

All of those please. I don't care about the name, they can call it Death Valley if they like, but all those are important and useful for me.

I disagree on one of these points.
Regarding the sandbox: it's there for a reason, as it is an effective last line of defense. However, I do think new APIs should be added to do things in a controlled way that the sandbox doesn't currently allow. That, along with bringing the Mac App Store up to the standards of the iOS App Store, would entice more developers to release software there.

I want a system where I do not have to pay for updates for software which suddenly won't work, disable SIP and spend a year hoping folders will get back on top (they still didn't). I'm not installing Death Valley before 10.12.3, I learned my lesson. No betas either.

I agree.

SIRI is literally lame. I was hyped when it came on iPhone and barely used it...

I had the chance to play with a Windows 10 Laptop for 2 weeks - and though I didn't like that much Windows 10 - I found Cortana much more useful and practical compared to SIRI.

Of course - I do not fancy talking to devices as much as I thought I would.

Either way I imagine SIRI will do no more than Web/File Searching, schedule some dates or reminders and tell jokes.
Pretty much close to what a blonde secretary would do except..... well you know what.... :-D
