When watching a video / movie in iTunes, it will stop playing as if paused when checking for updates in the Mac App Store app.

In Mail, "tool tips" for links which appear off-window will appear if you hover the mouse over where the link would be if the window were expanded.

Anyone tried to copy Photos library to external hard drive or somewhere else ? I get an error right at the end (finder cannot copy some of the files), ERROR CODE -36.
When I export photos to a directory on my local HD and then use the finder to copy them to a USB thumb drive (FAT), the finder just hangs. It appears to create the directory on the thumb drive but doesn't copy the files. However if I use the command line there is no problem. Also, if I attempt to cancel the finder copy it just hangs with a "Stopping" message.

Am I the only one who has this problem:

Wake iMac Late 2012 from USB device does not work?

Try new beta it addresses USB supposedly
(Don't try it if you have senseitive files and it may ruin your time/life), but being the third beta its safe, or just wait for 10.10.2 probably it'll be released this week or latest next

It seems like the issue I had before with copying to a USB thumb drive was a once off. I just trashed all the existing files on the drive through the finder & copied a new set (again with the finder) and it all proceeded smoothly.

Don't know if a similar one has been already spotted, I've encountered the following:
Screen Shot 2015-11-11 at 3.19.03 PM.png
Screen Shot 2015-11-11 at 3.19.50 PM.png

I can partition and format this disk in any system from Lion to El Capitan and the latter will always show -9.64 GB used for "other". A negative disk usage is something I see for the first time.

It's a removable, shows properly on all my computers not running El Capitan. I will try reindexing it in EC in a second...

[edit: didn't work]

Thanks, tried that. In fact it solves nothing with wake from USB :D...somehow I get pissed from apple a little by now.

EDIT: Strange things: if I plug my mouse receiver into the mac directly it can wake the mac by clicking. Why not if the receiver is plugged into my USB Hub?!

When I start typing in the Safari address bar I get to see suggestions. I complete the query and start the search – the suggestions disappear. Google loads, then the suggestions reappear.

This only happens
  • if Google or DuckDuckGo are the default search engine, not if it's Bing or Yahoo,
  • only in fullscreen mode.
Can anybody reproduce this?

That safari lag is getting really annoying. Most prevalent with Twitter and another forum that I use.

Apple better get this crap fixed.

Which version of Chrome?

So if I open a new window or tab and go to my bookmarks or just type in Twitter.com, it hangs and doesn't go. I have to hit reload a bunch of time before it goes and then other times it goes right away.

It also does the same on some forums as well.

In forums that have twitter links embedded it doesn't show them because Safari doesn't get Twitter to respond.

It is very annoying and I hope Apple gets this fixed ASAP.

This has been by far the worst update I've experienced in my years with Apple.

I have this bug in El Capitan, when I shut down, the dock disappears half way & freeze then the computer shuts down. Is it suppose to do that? I'm running the latest version of El Capitan.

Mine does the same – disappears halfway, freezes for a bit, then the rotating... whatever it is... appears, then it still takes something like 45 seconds to shut down completely. I thought Cappy was supposed to make shutdown really really fast. It's not really a big problem, but, yeah, it's there.

Mine tries to disappear but freezes half way then the screen turn black because it shuts down. Isn't the dock suppose to disappear all the way then shut down?

When an application's option is set to "Keep in Dock", its Recent Items menu in the dock does not update. Unsetting that option partially fixes it; quitting and relaunching the app is still required to make the Recent Items menu update.
When "Keep in Dock" is set, the only solution I've found to updating the Recent Items menu in the dock is by executing "killall Dock" in Terminal.

A few google searches reveal that this has been a bug since the El Capitan betas.

I've submitted a bug report.
