I upgraded to the unstable DP just because I wanted to have my WiFi working again. Even Yosemite beta 10.10.4 wasn't working for me (which has brought back the old mDNSResponder) as it should. Nowhere near Mavericks' performance in terms of networking (which, btw, had the better name of all the three last major releases). With the DP, I have encountered no problems with networking so far.

Having my WiFi back is well worth the instability in other things.

Has anyone any odd experience with networking?
Answer below.
Wifi completely drops out randomly and won't come back until you toggle wifi off then on

I'll try and update to El Capitan when it launches, but seeing how none of Yosemite updates/versions fixed my connectivity issues (the ones described by Hackintosh) I'm not confident that they'll be fixed. And yes, downgrading back to Mavericks each time was a pain in the ass.

issue with USB 10/100 Ethernet device
not able to connect to LAN (via a USB 10/100 LAN device) after upgrade to Mac OSX 10.11 (El Capitan)

I suspect this is a driver issue ... duh ... I'm left speechless
I wonder is there a way to fallback to Yosemite??

Perhaps related to the known USB issues?

USB Known Issues
  • USB storage devices, including internal SD card readers, may become unavailable after system sleep and require either re-plug or restart to recover.
  • USB input devices may become non-functional on some Macs after several days.
  • USB 1.0, 1.1 and older 2.0 devices may not function.

still cannot connect to my corporate wifi access point using WPA/WPA2 Enterprise. It hang at authenticating, and go nowhere. My Mac can connect under other protocoil like WPA Personal, WEP and other.

Have filed bug with Apple, hget response, but no further solution yet

If you have full screen app running before sleeping, when you wake up Mac, you will see a black background rather than your own wallpaper on lock screen.

I also filed a bug report with Apple. Guess they will fix this soon.

This is the bane of my existence right now. El Capitan is great, but right now trying to figure out how to work around the inability to use some critical USB devices.

Regarding this matter, I've gotta it working by replacing with a new adapter from Apple (Thunderbolt to Gigabit Ethernet Adapter) ... but it costed me 29USD http://store.apple.com/hk/product/MD463ZM/A/thunderbolt-to-gigabit-ethernet-adapter ...
I won't recommend this solution reason because it's basically still a bit buggy in the network manager, things aren't working quite straight forward even with the Apple product, network manager hangs and stuff ... .

You know Yosemite has introduced continuity right? Apple may need time to migrate their code to mdnsresponer. ;)

I would think it's the IPv6 enforcement thingy ...
Caused in my scenario, I don't use DHCP for my company's network, I created a new profile for that, and key in IP addresses (IPv4), gateway, DNSs manually ...

Anyway, I shouldn't have install it on my daily use machine, but I wanted to use all those new SDKs and stuff, and I don't have the luxuries to buy a second machine ... ;D

Hey, you can use secondary partition to handle all of those stuff and keep your original one intact. You can even install this version in an external drive without affecting your data (although in this option, you would better buy an SSD to gain considerable boot and running responsiveness).

Hey thanx for the suggestion ... good thought :)

I hate the fact Apple disallowed SSD+RAM replacement ever since the new MacBook Pro w Retina model; MacBook Pro 2012 model rocks. Now it means once you picked a hard disk size/ RAM size you've got to stick with it forever ... having an external device hanging around doesn't look cool XD

I also hate this as well, especially when I have only 128GB internal storage while I can only divide them into two partition to install windows.
And, you know, taking a hard disk all the way around is in fact my current solution! :( every time I need to start iTunes I need to plug in my external drive since my iTunes library sits inside. I give up adding bitlocker encryption because macosx will never add support for it. Same on file vault.

Nothing good in Spotlight works outside the US. No stocks. No weather. No sports. No movies.
Simple. Apple is an America company.
Then what new will first be released to all Americans rather than the rest of world.

By the way, I can search weather in my spotlight. I am not in USA.

I've been experiencing severe intermittent audio playback artifacts in Safari with my Focusrite Scarlet 2i2. If I watch a YouTube video, the audio will play perfectly for about forty seconds and then it begins to distort.

I am using a 12-core Mac Pro 4,1 (firmware upgraded to 5,1).

This is the exact same problem I was having.
