Guys, how can I get Kernels Folder and OSInstall.mpkg without installing Os X Hackers app?

OSInstall.mpkg:
Right-click on OS X El Capitan Installation.app -> Show Package Contents -> Contents -> SharedSupport -> OSInstall.mpkg

Kernel:
Mount the InstallESD.dmg in /Applications/Install OS X El Capitan.app/Contents/SharedSupport/
Extract the Kernel with Pacifist from InstallESD.dmg -> Packages -> Essentials.pkg -> /System/Library/Kernels/kernel

But they both are not gonna be modified? Is it right?

Can somebody with Installed El Capitan and OS X Extractor app share with me these patched files?

The Kernel and the OSInstall.mpkg won't be modified while extracting from the OS X El Capitan Installation.app.

But you have to add the Board-ID to the Distribution file in /System/Installation/Packages/OSInstall.mpkg (or remove the whole check of the Board-ID in the Distribution file).

Editing of the OSInstall.mpkg:

- make a copy of the /System/Installation/Packages/OSInstall.mpkg into a temporary folder for editing

- extract the OSInstall.mpkg via Terminal: xar -x -f OSInstall.mpkg

- get your Board-ID via Terminal: ioreg -lp IOService | grep board-id

- add the Board-ID to the 'Distribution' file in the line 'var platformSupportValues=[" ... "];' with a simple Plain-Text-Editor in the same manner as the already existing ID's

- delete the old OSInstall.mpkg in the temporary folder

- pack the files in the temporary folder into a new OSInstall.mpkg via Terminal: xar -c -f OSInstall.mpkg *

- replace the original OSInstall.mpkg in the Installer with the edited one.

Dunno the exact reason why the Kernel has been modified, it's normally not necessary. TMRJIJ should be able to explain this.

Guide for the creation of a patched Installer. It's from OS X 10.10 Yosemite, but works basically for OS X 10.11 El Capitan too.

Put the system .app file on applications, run the tool, install it on a formatted usb, boot the usb. That's the theory.
Hi
Thank you for the quick answer.
Do you mean to run this app and select an freshly formatted partition and after the app has completed its run boot from that partition?

Yes, that's it. Remember you need the file "Install OS X (Ml/Mavericks/Yosemite/EC).app" on your "Applications" folder. Try it and see if it works. For me, the installer booted, but it told me that I already have that version instaled and forced me to reboot, but who knows, maybe it works for you.

I got an error message after several hours. Is it possible than an 8GB USB stick is not big enough?

Can be, I always use a 16 GB stick. Also, the installer says between 7 and 10 hours, but in reallity it takes like less than half an hour

Quite strange, if I select an empty partition on my external HD - the same HD from different partition is used to boot Mac when preparing the install package - very quickly the app terminates without moving any files to this partition. Gives a green mark saying everything was fine, but in reality nothing was done. If I select external USB sticks, it starts to work but as I also cnformed my 8gb is probably to small to accommodate all files:-(

Does it show the crossed circle while booting the installer or are you able to boot, start installing and then it reboots and shows the circle?

No this is what happens. i reboot into the installer, i partition the ssd, i select the partition that i want to install, it begins to install (or so it looks like it is), it reboots showing a mac crash screen, then i press any key and it begins to reload mac os lion, if i tell it to boot to the flash drive again it does the same thing. i have tried different installers and many other things but nothing works.

Hi, guys. Remember there's a way to get El Capitan installed on MB2,1 and MBP2,2.
Some people have had success using it on MB3,1 and MB4,1.

Maybe it's not the best way but it exists.

HOW TO INSTALL EL CAPITAN ON AN UNSUPPORTED MACBOOK 2,1 --> post #502 https://forums.macrumors.com/thread...nsupported-macs.1889851/page-21#post-23109825

I'm not giving support if you use these methods, you know I don't have much time to come to this forum lately due to my new job and other issues.

My best wishes,

Try to install OSX 10.11 El Capitan via FireWire or a replaced HDD, since USB isn't working out-of-the-box in OSX 10.11 on older unsupported Macs.
Ok....so it booted to the installer but am stuck on the language selection screen as I my keyboard and trackpad have stopped responding now what do i do

Hi
I tried to boot with FireWire from the MacPostFactor 2.0.1 created install drive. It seems to work better than with USB as doesn't stuck the progressbar on OSX Hackers screen, but after some time changes to other screen with a mouse arrow - which cannot be moved as my USB mouse is not recognized - and after a window pops up with "Creating MacPostFactor recovery (small)". After automatically reboots and starts a cycle with progressbar on OSX Hackers screen andf after "Creating MacPostFactor recovery (small)". What can be wrong?
Is it maybe a problem, that I have on the same external SSD already Yosemite installed which has its own recovery partition created by the same MacPostFactor and these 2 get into some sort of cnflict?
Why do I need this recovery partition? DO I need 2 recovery partitions, 1 for Yosemite and 1 for El Capitan?
Thank you

Regarding the 'mac crash screen' (Kernel Panic) try to replace the Boot.efi in /System/Library/CoreServices/ as well as in /usr/standalone/i386 with the version from Post #502.
i don't see how a different boot.efi will change anything. it boot to install installer and chashes after then install has started. i have a picture of what terminal shows when i start the install but i need to find it again. i will post it once i find it.
