OS X El Capitan: Working & Not Working Apps

SwitchResX doesn't work with custom resolutions. The Overrides directory has moved to /System/Library/Displays/Contents/Resources/Overrides from /System/Library/Displays/Overrides. I also had to boot into Recovery Mode to even edit the resolution file to re-add 1920x1200 on my 13" rMBP. I wasn't able to edit it as root when logged in normally.

Not working

• Quicksilver - Has behavior issues. Rather than launching apps, it's stuck at "show source in catalogue" as the only action you can perform on an app, with no option for "open"
• ManyCam - This actually causes a kernel panic at boot. You need to remove the kext file from /System/Library/Extensions/ or you'll be in a boot loop.

Put Terminal in the list of Not Working.

I cannot open Adobe Photoshop CS5 and Adobe Illustrator CS 5. It is said that legacy Java SE 6 runtime is unavailable for this version of OS X. Darn!!

I am experiencing Mail crashing. It will not launch at all without crashing since I added a POP3 gmail account. Prior to adding the POP3 gmail account, it was fine.

It's a show-stopper for me.

Although the app for the Griffin RadioSHARK works, there seems to be an issue with USB sound - the app gets nothing from the device. Probably because of this from the Release Notes?

That is odd, I did a El Cap install on a spare drive and was able to open and use my old VMWare Horizon install to log in to my hospital no issues. Actually seemed to work better than my Yosemite install.

Nope, does not work for me, I'm using the latest version btw.
Tested two VMs, they give either a white or black screen with nothing on it for me

You can grab the version that has Java built in for 10.10 and newer. I know the EAP version has it as an option, I'm sure the final release version does as well somewhere.

Picked up PHPStorm 9 the non-JDK version... The JDK version is pretty laggy - Thanks!

Because of rootles i think. It is complaining about /usr/local and /usr/bin or very similair.

If you add "swing.volatileImageBufferEnabled=true" (without quotes) to the end of /Applications/PhpStorm EAP.app/Contents/bin/idea.properties the lag is fixed when using the bundled version.

I am mainly concerned about Aperture. If Aperture is not supported or working in 10.11 I skip it.

Could someone please extensively test Aperture? I guess a lot of users are interested....

Microsoft Word 2011 works but the toolbar is quirky. Switching tabs in the toolbar doesn't always respond. Also, the print dialog shows an all black page, but the documents do print.

jBidwatcher does not work at all due to its need for Java SE 6 runtime.
